Hard Times

She smiled and nodded her head. She reached out a hand and gently held his some. “Não se preocupe. Eu vou ter certeza de que meus amigos não são vistos nem ouvidos. Confie em mim, tenho feito isso antes. Ninguém morre sob minha proteção.” She told him with a warm smile as she looked at him. She heard the worry in his voice and was trying to help him out. “Eu sei como você pensa e sente. Ele está bem. Deixe isso para mim. Manny não vai morrer sob minha proteção. O mesmo vale para você Tatsuya.” She said as she blushed a bit. She lightly squeezed his hand to let him know that she meant it. She spoke to him in a low whisper the whole time. Only he would have been able to hear what she said. She continued to lead him into the area where her hotel was. She tipped her hat to the greeter at the Hotel’s front doors before she went inside, leading Tatsuya along behind her. Once they got into an elevator, she pushed a button and waited for the elevator to move.

Tatsuya smiled shyly as she grabbed hold of his hand. He held hers back, walking along side her as she continued to speak to him. She reassured him that no suspicion would come onto Manny and the cafe, and that she'd protect Manny and him as well. She squeezed his hand lightly as she told him this and blushed a bit. He smiled at her, interlocking his fingers with hers. They walked for a bit longer finally made it to downtown Rio. The favelas behind them were a thing of the past. He began to sightsee, looking at the tall buildings all around him. The hustle and bustle of the city as cars and people all walked by. Looking at everyone within the city he started to feel a bit self concious about his clothing. Wearing a simple tank top and jeans, with dingy tennis shoes. Everyone else in the city were dressed fashionably, especially the beautiful woman he held hands with.

Soon enough they made their way to a very tall building, that overlooked the white sandy beaches below. By now it was getting late and parties and celebrations were starting up in the streets "Wow...". There was much music, and Tatsuya was tempted to stay and sightsee a bit more, but Jackie continued to guide him until they walked into the building. The inside was decorated magnificently. She led him into an elevator, pushing a button and the door closing with a "bing". He stood next to her and leaned himself up against the wall of the elevator. He hadn't noticied it until then but he still held onto her hand. As he saw it he began to smile and looked up to her. Maybe she had only took his hand to be nice and reassure him, or maybe she felt more, but nonetheless, he wanted to keep her hand in his for as long as she would allow. Hopefully, she'd feel the same way.

Jackie smiled as she looked to Tatsuya. He seemed to be amazed by the sights that are around this new area. She chuckled at him as he seemed to want to see more of this. She made a note in the back of her mind to show him more of the sights. But for now, they needed to talk. It would be better to get it out of the way first. She smiled as she looked to him as he leaned himself up against the elevator. She blushed some as she realized that she was still holding his hand. But he didn’t seem to mind. He actually seemed to like holding her hand. She moved closer to him, blushing a bit more as she did. She raised up her free hand and caressed his cheek some. “Espero que não me importo. Eu não posso ajudar, mas para fazer isso.” She said as she blushed a bit more. She licked her lips a bit before she leaned towards him. She gently and softly pressed her lips to his in a kiss. She blushed more as she did this. She hoped that he felt the same attraction to her.

Tatsuya looked at her and saw her begin to blush. He wasn't sure if she was blushing because or if he was embarrassing her, or if she liked holding his hand. Though, her next action would prove the latter to be correct. She moved in closer to him, blushing even more as she did so. Using her free hand, shen raised it and began to move it along his cheek. Tatsuya's face started to get hot, but he maintained his hold on her hand, lightly squeezing it as she did this. Her next words caused her to blush a bit more, and understandably so. Even Tatsuya was on the verge of blushing himself as he heard her. She began to lean in, her body getting closer to his before her lips met his in a kiss. Thoughts flooded Tatsuya's mind. Could this really be happening? Was she actually interested in a man like him? He started to smile as he kissed her back, placing his free hand on her hip as he kissed her.

She smiles as she felt him kiss her back. Even more so when his free hand went and rested on her hip. She started to close her eyes as she kissed him some more. Her hand on his cheek continued to caress his cheek. She would tilt her head a bit to the side so she could kiss him deeper. She was enjoying this and wished that this never stopped. But sadly it had to. She barely heard the ding of the elevator. That was the only thing that pulled her out of the trance that she got from kissing him. She blushed as she looked at him as she heard the elevator doors open up behind them. She licked her lips a bit before she kissed the opposite cheek that her hand caressed. She heard a cough from behind them and looked to see it was an old couple who were obviously those of the high class. The old male seemed to not be pleased with what he saw. The old female though was smiling a bit. It was a hint of a smile, since she was hiding it from her husband. “Oh! Ah! Sinto muito. Nós vamos sair do seu caminho agora.” Jackie said as she blushed a bit more. She squeezed Tatsuya’s hand again as she started to lead him past the old couple and down the hall.

The old man harrumphed at them as they passed. “Hmph! Tal comportamento lascivo. Se não estivéssemos tão ocupados em ir à festa que gostaria de fazer os policiais sabem de uma coisa dessas. E ela está apenas levando adiante. Coitado está sendo usado.” He said in a whisper to his wife who was beside him. Jackie wasn’t able to hear what he said since she already passed him. But Tatsuya could still hear his words. The old man was one of those bitter people. “Agora, agora. Ela não parece aquele tipo de mulher. Além disso você foi o mesmo comigo. Lembre-se meu amor? Lembre-se o comportamento arbitrário tivemos constantemente? Deixe-os ser. Eu não quero perder a festa.” The old woman whispered back to her husband as she smiled up at him. This caused the old man to blush and stutter some as they went into the elevator. Tatsuya would have been able to hear what the old woman said as well.

Tatsuya continued to kiss her back. She started to close her eyes some and he followed suit. Her hand continued to caress his cheek and Tatsuya had started to move his hand up and down her side. As she tilted her head he began to kiss her deeper. They became entangled in a rapture of emotions as they went further and further, until the disappointing "bing" of the elevator went off. Tatsuya began to smile as he opened his eyes, grinning when he saw her licking her lips. She then kissed his cheek before Tatsuya heard the cough of an old man standing behind Jackie. He seemed to be annoyed with what he saw. At this point in time, he couldn't have cared less about what the man thought, he was about to lean back in to kiss her again before Jackie started to speak to them. “Oh! Ah! Sinto muito. Nós vamos sair do seu caminho agora.” She started to blush and squeezed his hand, leading him out of the elevator and pass the couple.

As they made their way, Tatsuya heard the old man begin to whisper to his wife about Jackie. It annoyed him to no end what he said about her. He had the mind to turn around and cuss the man out before he heard what his wife started to tell him. What she said calmed him down, and made Tatsuya start to laugh to himself. As he walked by her side he started to wonder if that old couple they had just passed could be them in the future. He smiled at this thought and continued to follow her down the hallway.

Jackie blinked some as she heard Tatsuya start to laugh. “Hm?” She asked as she looked behind her to look. “O que há de tão engraçado?” She asked him with a smile as she watched him laugh. Você fala outras línguas? Ou existe uma linguagem especial que você prefere falar?” She asked him as she smiled at him. She was waiting for the beep of the door to unlock. “Oh! Eu tenho uma espécie de animal de estimação para dentro. Seu nome é Razvan. Deixe ele cheirar você antes de você entrar. Não quero que ele te machucar. Ou não gosta de você.” She told him as she smiled. “Eu não sei o que ele está em forma agora. Então esteja pronto para ver qualquer um gatinho. Ou um adulto Saber-Cat dentadas.” She warned him as she opened the door and walked inside.

Tatsuya laughed a bit more as he heard Jackie's question about why exactly he had been laughing. "oh, não é nada" He held her hand a bit tighter and smiled as she started to laugh herself. She then started to take him down a white hallway, then a golden one. Tatsuya was still a bit amazed with the fanciness of this place. They soon stopped in front of a white door with golden designs emblazoned on it. There was also a keypad sported on it. As she typed in the code for the door she asked him if he had any other languages that he preferred to speak. "I can speak english, you?." He said this with a smile. The door then beeped and she began to warn him of her pet. The first comment she made about the pet made sense, but her second remark sounded funny. "An adult saber-toothed cat?". He asked her this with a bit of confusion in his voice.

Jackie smiled at him as he laughed a bit more. She nodded her head a bit when he told her that it was nothing for her to worry about. She blushed a bit as she felt his hand hold hers a bit tighter. When he spoke English to her, she smiled more. As much as she liked to speak other languages, she preferred to keep it to simple English. Hence why she asked him in the first place. “Of course. With my job, I have to speak any and every language possible.” She said with a smile. She then gave him a flirtatious wink as well. “Mhm. Or you can call him a Smilodon. You will see. He’s a special pet indeed.” She said as she nodded her head. “But do not worry. He won’t hurt you. As long as you don’t hurt me, he will let you live. That’s how he is.” She said as she chuckled some. She opened the door wider and started to step inside. The room was grand and large. It was spacious yet cozy. Within the living room lying on the floor was a large adult-sized cat. It looked to be as tall as four feet at the shoulder. Looked to be between 360 and 470kg. Seemed to be at least 2.6 in length. Had a 12 inch tail. Its upper canines reached 30 cm. These same upper canines would protruded up to 17 cm out of the upper jaw. It looked exactly like what a Smilodon was supposed to look like. Though it’s fur was different. Instead of a brownish or tanish color it’s fur was mainly white. It’s fur also had light blue markings on it that you would see on a tiger. Even it’s eyes were the same light blue and seemed to have no pupil at all. This was Razvan, Jackie’s pet and companion.

For now, Razvan was lying on his side but his head was turned so that he was watching Tatsuya very closely. “Tatsuya, this is Razvan. Razvan this is Tatsuya.” She said with a smile as she walked towards the lazy Saber-Toothed Cat. She got down on her knees and started to pet and stroke Razvan’s fur. Razvan in turn started to purr and move onto his back some. “Hehe. Come here Tatsuya. Let Razvan recognize you as a friend. He likes to be scratched behind the ears by the way.” Jackie said as she smiled. She looked over her shoulder at him.

Tatsuya smiled as she told him about her job entailing the practice of many languages, this followed by her flirtatiously winking at him. She then began to tell him more about her pet. Tatsuya was a bit taken aback from what she was telling him. A Smilodon? In the hotel? Smilodons were supposed to have been extinct for well over 10,000 years. How could she have gotten one, and into the hotel on top of that. He started to wonder if she was pulling his leg for not telling her what he had been laughing at. Though it didn't seem as much of a joke as it did before after Jackie opened the door, revealing a huge cat with extremely long canines. It laid on its side, but its head was facing the both of them. Something told Tatsuya though that it's eyes were well focused on him though. Jackie began to walk towards him and got down on her knees, stroking the cats fur. The cat seemed to like it causing it to roll over a bit on its back, trying to get its belly scratched.

Tatsuya started to smile as he saw this. Though this cat was intimidating, he couldn't deny the beauty of this creature. It's snow white fur and light blue accents made it quite something to behold. Jackie then began to introduce the two. "Ah, so Razvan is his name." As Tatsuya said his name, the cat turned its gaze back onto him. Tatsuya exhaled a bit and walked forward, kneeling down a bit more he extended his hand out, letting Razvan smell him and get used to him. After a little bit Razvan lightly licked his hand. Tatsuya began to smile, letting out a sigh of relief. Finally, the awkward moment had ended but now the ritual of their friendship had to be completed. Tatsuya reached over and gently began to scratch behind his ears, causing the large cat to purr a bit more.

Jackie smiled as she nodded her head to him as he spoke. “Mhm, this is Razvan. It’s a long story really of how I found him. I’ll tell you that story later. Maybe sometime tonight if you wished. But do know that I usually work with him. So if you join us in a fight. He will have your back as well as my own.” She told him with a smile. She watched him start to walk over to them. She sucked in a breath some as Tatsuya let Razvan sniff him. She let out a breath in relief when Razvan licked his hand. She smiled and chuckled some more as he reached over. He started to scratch behind his ears. Her hands were scratching his belly. Razvan started to close his eyes and purr loudly. She smiled as she kept her eyes on her pet. She knew that they would have to get this talk over with. “Like I said before in the café, you are in danger. I know the two mafia groups that are personally after you. Well, at least there are two. Let’s hope there aren’t anymore. Anyways, I am a hired hitman. My duty was too kill a duo of the rivaling mafia members that arrived here to get you. When I arrived though, one of them was already dead. The other I killed myself with my gun.” She said as she reached a hand to her hip and pulled out her gun. She let him have a good look at it before she hid it again. “I have a feeling you were the one who killed one of them. But in doing so, that would cause that mafia to send out more people here to find you. We probably should disappear as soon as possible. But first I have a duty to take care of.” She said as she reached into her top. She pulled out the scraps of fabric she took from the dead bodies. “I have to mail this in to the mafia that hired me. Then we can go somewhere else. Is there anything here that you want to do before we leave? Or anything that you need to do? Anything at all?” She asked him as she looked at him.

Tatsuya nodded his head as he listened to her telling him a bit about Razvan. She explained that it was a long story about how she acquired him as her pet. Tatsuya smiled, "Yea, I'd love to hear that story. I'm interested in how you got him." He continued to scratch behind Razvan's ears, the smilodon purring loudly before closing its eyes. Jackie then began to speak again, her voice sounding a bit more serious than it had sounded earlier. She told him that there were two mafia groups that were after him, or at least that was what she thought. There could have been even more mafias than the two she mentioned that were after him. Tatsuya shivered a bit at the prospect of this. She then began to explain that her occupation was that of a hitman. He looked at her with questioning eyes. She reminded him nothing of the two hitmen he had fought two years back. She began to explain more that she had been hired to protect him from a duo of rivaling mafia members. She reached her hand to her hip and unholstered her gun. Tatsuya knew she had one, because he had seen her holster the entire day, he just didn't realize how big the gun actually was. He was taken aback, but because of the revelation that she was indeed a hitman, it really wasn't all that surprising to him.

She then began to tell him that she felt that he was responsible for killing one of them. Tatsuya sighed as she said this. He remembered back to the man he fought in the alleyways, shooting him with his own gun. She started to inform him that causing the death of these people would cause the Mafia's to send out even more men after him. She had the same idea in mind as him, they needed to disappear. But first she had to take care of something, she was to mail the emblems of the two dead Mafioso to the Mafia that hired her, as proof of her finishing the job. She asked if there was anything he wanted to do before they left. Tatsuya looked at her as she asked this and smiled. She was willing to do so much for him. "Well...The beach...". Tatsuya stopped speaking for a second, maybe this wasn't too appropriate of a request. They were being chased down by the mafia and he was about to ask about the beach. He looked back at her and started to speak again. "During my time here, I've never gotten to visit the beaches. I've been too concerned about being caught that I've never frequented places that were highly populated. Which is why I've been trying to scrap by in the favelas that you found me in...If it were possible, do you think you'd want to visit it with me?" He asked her this and smiled. He then turned his head a bit and looked out of the window. It was dark, there would be almost no one out there at this time. He then looked back to her, waiting for her answer.

She smiled when Tatsuya looked over to her. He was smiling at her when he told her the one place he wanted to do. Got to the beach. That was such a common want. She blinked a bit when he suddenly stopped speaking. She smiled some as he started to talk once more. “Really? Never been to the beach? Well then, we must go change that fact. I don’t think, I know. We can go to the beach if you want. Of course I’ll be there with you. Don’t worry, I’ll protect you.” She said with a smile and a laugh as she looked at him. She saw him turn his head. She too turned her head in the direction he was looking at. They were looking out the window. She smiled as she looked back to him. “Well before we go, do you have a swimsuit? Or are you going to use your pants or boxers as a swimsuit? Maybe you might want to skinny dip?” She asked him, smiling and blushing some as she did. She wouldn’t mind if her chose any one of those three options. They all seemed good to her. As she waited for his response, she got up. She headed over to a table that had an envelope on it. She bent over some so that she could stuff the patches into the envelope. She then turned it over as she grabbed a pen. She started to write out the address and ect for the location of where the letter was to go. She then put the pen away. She silently licked the envelope. “Ugh. These are always so disgusting. Always leaves a bad taste in my mouth.” She said with a scrunched up nose. She closed the envelope and puts it to the side before she started to wipe at her tongue. “Bleh. Still so disgusting.” She said again as she turned to face him. She smiled at him as she chuckled.

Tatsuya smiled as he listened to her answer his request. She had agreed to accompany him to the beach. He was glad she did, he was excited about going, but more excited about spending some more time with her. This would be a great chance for him to get to know her better. He smiled to himself as he started to think of this as a romantic date. She then began to ask him about a swimsuit. He started to laugh as listened to her later choices if he didn't have one. "A choice between swimming in underwear or skinny dipping, huh? I suppose I could do that, if you were to do the same of course." He smiled flirtatiously to her as she started to smile and blush. She then got up and began to walk over to a nearby table. As she did he began to do the same as he did in the restaurant earlier, admiring the curves of her body, almost especially when she bent over to pick up an envelope that laid upon it. She began to write out something on the envelope. While she did this he began to look back over to Razvan who was now glaring at him. Tatsuya looked and smiled nervously back at the glaring tiger. He was very protective of her, and it showed. “Ugh. These are always so disgusting. Always leaves a bad taste in my mouth.” Tatsuya turned his attention back to Jackie who seemed to be finishing up what she had been doing. She turned around and started to wipe at her tongue, “Bleh. Still so disgusting.”. He started to laugh as he heard this, she must have licked the adhesive on the envelope. That always tasted nasty. He smiled at her before he thought of something, "Oh yea, I guess I'll use my boxers at the beach. Not sure we can find a place open this time of night that sells swimsuits." He laughed a bit as he said this.

She smiled and chuckled some as she heard him. “Well of course. Wouldn’t want you to feel too uncomfortable with me around. All wet and in my underwear or perhaps my swimsuit. Hm. Which do you think I should choose?” She asked him with a smile. She then winks at him in a flirtatious manner. She blushed a bit. She was beginning to feel as if this was a date of some sort. Well she did see in the elevator that he did indeed liked her. Enough to let her kiss them before he kissed back. She smiled and giggled as she nodded. “Okay. I’ll go ahead and wear my underwear as well then. No need to make you uncomfortable and all alone in the water wearing just your underwear.” She said with a laugh. She moved over to him and ruffled his hair a bit. “Let me go get a couple of towels. Then we can go. Alight?” She said with a smile. She then moved around him and down a hall. She opened up one of the closets. She pulled out a couple of black towels. She placed them over her shoulder before she walked back to Tatsuya. “Are you ready to go?” She asked him with a smile. She chuckled some as she looked to him. She seemed to be very excited right now. “Better hurry. Or you’ll miss me taking my clothes off!” She said with a laugh as she left the room. She was teasing Tatsuya some. She wondered how he would react to it. Razvan started to get up and looked to Tatsuya. He then started to nudge Tatsuya towards the door. Jackie was already half-way down the hallway. She smiled and did a wave to Tatsuya before she got into the elevator. She was acting as if she was about to close the doors.

Tatsuya starts to grin as he listens to her as tells him she'd be wearing underwear to the beach as well. "Heh, that'll make this trip even more fun". He starts to laugh as bends over and begins to ruffle through his hair before going to get the towels. She came back a couple of seconds later and asked if he was ready to go. She smiled and began to chuckle as she looked to him. She seemed very happy about going to the beach, which made Tatsuya even more excited himself about going. "Yea, I'm ready" He slowly started to stand up and heard her as she started to make her way out of the room. “Better hurry. Or you’ll miss me taking my clothes off!” As he heard this he sprang up and made his way towards the door hastily, even getting some help from Razvan. When he got out of the door she was already half-way down the hallway and getting into the elevator. She started to wave to him and it looked like she was going to close the doors. Tatsuya started to laugh as he jogged down the hallway, running into the elevator with her. "Almost left me there eh?" He started to laugh as he said this.

She laughed as Tatsuya got into the elevator with her. He made it just in time. “Of course not. I’m too sweet to leave you behind.” She said with a wide smile. She then chuckled again. She was being playful with him. She took one of the towels in her hands. Then puts it around his neck. She pulls on it slightly to bring him closer to her. She gently kissed him. It was a short sweet kiss. She then broke the kiss and smiles at him. “Hehe. That’s your reward. For making it on time.” She told him with a wider smile. She then laughed some. She lets go of the towel around his neck. Then moved over to the elevator. She looked out from it. “Hm. How about we go there? You see it? That little nook. It seems to be a good place. What do you think?” She asked him. She was pointing out the spot. It was indeed a good place to hide. She turned her head some. Then smiled at him. “It’ll help give us cover. Unless you want others to see you in your boxers?” She said with a giggle. She was teasing him again. She moved her hand some. She grasped his hand. Then interlocked her fingers with his. She is happy now with him.

He laughed a bit more and smiled back. The door to the elevator opened, Jackie looked out of it. “Hm. How about we go there? You see it? That little nook. It seems to be a good place. What do you think?” Tatsuya moved over to the doors and looked out of them, looking toward the spot she was talking about. Jackie then turned her head and looked back to him, “It’ll help give us cover. Unless you want others to see you in your boxers?”. She said this and started to giggle, to which he cracked a smile. She had such a beautiful voice, it was hard not to smile when you heard it. He felt her grab hold of his hand, interlocking her fingers with his. He smiled a bit wider as she did this. Holding her hand, he started to walk them over to the nook that Jackie had pointed out.
