| (OCC: I am testing out a semi different style of RP for this.)
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I welcome you to the Terra Institution. Where the unknown becomes the known and the world splits into two existences." This is what was said a little over an hour ago. The principle always said the same thing every year spouting his constant nonsense. There was something else going on at this school and Kyra knew it. All she cared about now was figuring what else was going on at this school. Students seemed to just get up and disappear. This usually happened after they were called up to the office. I mean c'mon? They couldn't just be disappearing for no reason.
It always seemed to be very suspicious to Kyra that they just "disappeared" every time they were called up. Some other students throughout the school began to notice it as well; especially the seniors. Very few people actually graduated from Terra Academy and none have ever returned. This just brought even more questions to Kyra's mind. "DAMMIT!!! Just what in the hell is going on in this school!" That was said about twenty minutes ago. She herself managed to make it to junior year. Weather it was cause her powers were different from most or they feared her because she made a name for herself at the school. Whatever the case may be, they stayed away from her. Oh right, did I forget to mention Terra institution wasn't your average school? All the students attending the school either had some strange ability or could use dying will flame. The school taught you how to use your abilities and keep them in check among other things. It also taught you elementary through high school.
Kyra started here at fourth grade and was now in eleventh. Each year she became more and more of the events that were about to unfold. Where is she now at this specific moment?
Kyra was breathing heavily as she ran into the classroom chasing after the student. "I've finally got you cornered. I know you were one of the ones who took her away!" The student stood there facing the windows towards the middle of the school grounds. "Aren't you going to say something?!" Silence stained the air, almost as if the rest of the world didn't exist. Then a small whisper that sounded like a small hissing sound broke the silence. It started off small then grew. The student was laughing and he was trying to keep it in but he couldn't. His willpower finally broke and he erupted in laughter. "Yeah, that is the truth. I was one of the ones that took her away, but at this point in time there is nothing you could do about it." His laughter became even louder than before. He slowly turned around to face Kyra revealing his twisted face. There was dried blood on his face that was exactly too old, nor too new. He wore a twisted smile that seemed almost inhuman. His right eye slightly twitching with a crazed look in his eyes. His reddish blond hair draped down halfway across his forehead. There were some areas in his hair that the blood apparently reached. After a quick second he fully faced her. The entire front part of his clothes drenched with blood.
Kyra grimaced at the site of the blood. There was way too much on him. So much in fact, that whatever the blood came from was most likely not living anymore. Silence came over the two again. A cloud in the sky slowly drifted across the sky blocking the sun, dimming the only light in the room. A look of hatred rushed across her face. "Whose blood is that exactly?!" A questioned look came upon the boy's face. "Who's do you think it is?" She ground her teeth hard, barely able to hold her self together. "It is Claire's isn't it?" The boy erupted in laughter again. "Of course it is Claire's blood!" His laugh roared down the empty halls. The cloud that was blocking the sun lazily moved away revealing the sun once again. The boy then pulled a switchblade out of his pocket. "You know what my ability is don't you?!" He almost seemed unable to control himself, as his body trembled from excitement.
Kyra was beyond angry now, as the area around her began to shift literally. Her power was flowing in the air almost uncontrollably. Through her teeth she spoke and said these words, "it doesn't matter now does it? You don't stand a chance against me. Especially when I am this angry!" Her hair was starting to go up into the air, as if a ghost or some unseen force was messing with it. Her eyes burned with anger. She had completely lost control to her rage now. The boy charged forward with knife in hand. Kyra stepped to the right only gaining a small scratch from the knife. The boy laughed again and turned to cut, cut, cut, cut. Blood lust filled him, turning his mind into a state that had irrepressible amounts of lust. He loved to cut would be the simple way to put it. He enjoyed watching them suffer as he slowly killed them. After all, he had permission to do this type of stuff. Especially to snot nosed brats, who couldn't keep their noses where they didn't belong. It was Kyra's turn now and she didn't need a weapon to kill him. First, an impact from invisible force hit him hard in the stomach, which knocked him back. He stumbled back a little, before he laughed threw his teeth with the same hissing sound from earlier. "Ahh, that is right, your the girl the top is afraid of. They say you have some psychic power or something. No matter, you will die here and now." The boy pressed his knife to his finger and cut it. Blood came rushing out of the wound. "I have an ability that is considered in the same rank as yours." He lifted his hand to about the same level as his face and then swung his hand in a horizontal line at here, which sprayed the blood off his finger.
The blood solidified creating an energy wave, which was now heading at Kyra. He laughed through his teeth again, with his weird hissing laugh. The wave quickly approached Kyra, but she made no movements to dodge it. The attack scored a direct hit, exploding upon impact on Kyra. "Game over and another win to me." He stood there for a second, waiting for the smoke to clear. Before that could happen, Kyra rushed out punching the boy square in the face. If you thought all girl's punches were weak, then you would be in a shock after seeing what Kyra did. The boys head whipped back so quickly a cracking sound could be heard. Next the boy was lifted off the ground from the force of the hit. Too bad for the boy though, Kyra wasn't finished. Next and invisible energy smacked the boy lifting him higher into the air. Kyra punched him in the stomach giving him a hunched look. The boy did not touch the ground for thirty seconds, due to Kyra punching him and using her power. She finished him off with an upper cut to the face and then a flying kick to the stomach. The boy flew back hitting the concrete floors hard. Kyra walked up to the boy and stood next to him. "This is the end for you." She said with a cold voice and eyes that showed no mercy. She held out her hand and a blueish blade appeared, she clenched the grip of the handle. The boy barely conscious still let out a yell as Kyra slowly stabbed the tip of the blade into his throat until the boy was decapitated. She looked down at the bloody mess she had created one last time. "You are nothing like me." Her head whipped up and she proceeded down the halls. She finally knew who was responsible for what was going on and she wanted answers.
This is the fateful chain of events that led to the downfall and destruction of the Terra Institution.

| *continued from RP sample for those interested to know*
Calintz's flight left half an hour later. The journey was long and uneventful and Calintz had a window seat. He passed the time with in flight movies and music on his MP3 player. At some point he fell asleep and when he next awoke, it was to daylight streaming though his tiny window. Squinting against the sun rays, Calintz peered out and recognized New York city spread out below. Whilst New York was not the planes destination, it was nice to know that they had at least arrived at the right continent. It also meant that the journey was in its final stages until land down. Turning his attention back to the inside of the plane, Calintz flagged down a stewardess and procured a packet of BBQ flavored chips (or crisps if you're American) and a can of Vanilla coke. While he consumed his prizes, he thought about where he was headed. Terra academy was located 3 hours outside of Lansing, which in turn was located in North East Iowa.
Knowing there was still a good hour of sleep left to him if he chose to take it, Calintz closed his eyes, pulled the blind down on his window and dozed off. This time when Calintz awoke it was to the sound of the stewardess's voice coming in over the loudspeaker. "Attention all passengers, we will begin landing shortly. Please secure your belongings, take your seats and return your seats to their upright positions. Thank you for flying with vendetta airlines." With a groan, Calintz did as instructed and struggled to stretch out as best he could in the confined space. Sure enough, just as promised the Plane quickly began its descent before lining up for its landing on the runway. 5 minutes and a large bump later, Calintz found himself disembarking from the plane and strolling into the airport.
As was typical with airports these days, Calintz endured a long and somewhat torturous experience as entered the massive line to exit the airport. This could be summed up, fully explained and justified in two words: Airport Security. bag checks, X-ray machines, sniffer dogs, armed and unarmed police; all were present and accounted for. Finally, after 45 minutes of crawling along in line, Calintz had picked up his bags, had his passport stamped and stepped outside of the Airport and into the daylight.
It was a short lived feeling, as within 45 seconds he had hailed a cab that was parked outside and directed it to take him to the nearest bus station. Sadly, as Calintz had come to expect the taxi driver was a middle aged man from some poor background or another. The sad thign about this, was that they always wnated to tell you about it. So Calintz pretended to listen for 30 minutes to the driver with a token nod or 'yep', 'nup' and an occasional 'absolutely' before he arrived at the bus station. He paid the driver and was glad to see the back of him as he drove off to find someone else to ear bash. But the nameless driver was soon forgotten as he looked up the route that would take him to the academy. Eighteen dollars and 45 minutes saw him on the next bus out.
Now he was back to square one. Sitting in a rather confined space as he was taken to the academy. By now his MP3 player was low on battery and with no way to recharge it. Calintz was hardly surprised when it died on him after only 45 minutes of the trip had passed. With nothing else to do, he contented himself with alternating between staring at out the window at the passing scenery and examining his fellow passengers. He especially enjoyed watching a middle aged man picking his nose and. After a quick glance to see if anyone noticed, he wiped it under his chair. Another woman, seated one row in front of him on the opposite side of the bus, farted loudly and spent the next ten minutes bickering with her neighbor as to who was the perpetrator. Calintz tuned out of the argument just as some nasty insults started flying. Opting for staring blankly out the window to associating with those inside the bus.
At long last, Calintz arrived at the bus station not a moment too soon. A person seeing him stumbling off the bus would think he was like a man getting of a ship and seeing dry land for the first time in months. It was here that he wa smet by a student council member of Terra Academy and driven to the campus proper. The ride was quiet, too quiet really but he was just glad to have gotten out of that hell hole of a bus. For the first time all day, the ride was short and before Calintz knew it, he was being ushered out of the car and found himself in front of the main building of Terra academy. Without a pause in his stride, Calintz's belongings were taken to his room and he was directed towards the main hall. It was there that the opening ceremony was to be held.
As Calintz was about to open the main door and enter, he was stopped by a middle aged man with a little extra weight around the middle coming out. Seeing Calintz the man paused with a thoughtful frown on his face. Unsure of why he was being scrutinized so, Calintz remained still until finally the man broke out into a jolly grin. "Ah, you must be young master Calintz. Yes, yes, we have been greatly anticipating your arrival. It's rare to get transfers of your age after all..." Seeing Calintz's blank look the man laughed again. "My apologies son, I am the principle of this academy and it is my great honor to welcome you to our humble academy. But don't let me keep you, the ceremony is just about to start and I'm to be giving the opening address!"
Without letting Calintz get so much as a word in, the principle turned on his heels and went back into the hall. Something about the man he had just met gave Calintz an uneasy feeling. Something about 'we' greatly anticipating his arrival was vaguely unsettling. However he had been so good natured in saying so, it was difficult to think badly of him. Shrugging away his feelings of ill content, Calintz pushed the door open and proceeded into the hall. His first impression was that the place was huge. The ceiling was at least 20 meters high with a domed glass roof and the room itself was best described as being cavernous. The end of the room opposite the door Calintz had entered through was a grand stage. But besides this, the room was packed full of people. Most of them were Calintz's age and younger, marking them as fellow students of the academy. As Calintz pressed his way through the crowd, he looked up and saw the principle emerge onto the stage. He stepped up to a lone microphone in the center of the stage and began to speak.
"Greetings my students and welcome to another year at Terra Academy. For many of you, this is not your first opening ceremony but for our new students I wish to extend to you an extra special greeting and salutation!" The president paused for a moment as the audience clapped and Calintz joined in since everybody else seemed to be doing so. When the applause died down, the president continued speaking. "You are all here to be the best you can be, to do the best you can do and to not let anything stand in your way. It is our honor, our privilege to provide you with the best staff, the best facilities and the best opportunity to do just that. As many of you already know, our motto is to strive unto death do us part and we shall certainly strive!"
With this the audience burst into applause again as the president ended his grandiose speech and gave a bow. He then added, in a somewhat more moderated manner. "Classes will be commencing the day after tomorrow, the class lists will be posted up in all the dormitories tomorrow, now let us enjoy the festivities!" With his final piece being said, the principle gave a second, more exaggerated bow to the applause of the students and strode off the stage. Almost immediately the crowd burst into conversation, filling the room with a sort of dull roar. It was only then that Calintz felt somehow out of place. He realized that he didn't know a single person here and everywhere he looked, his fellows were engaged in conversations he didn't want to interrupt.
With a mental shrug of indifference borne from a long history of such experiences, Calintz began to make his way towards the side of the room where the chairs were lined up, deciding that he would prefer to sit down and be alone than to do it standing up.

| A loud beeping sound filled the room, singling that it was morning and time to get up. Too bad the alarm clocks constant whine fell upon deaf ears. Those ears belonged to Kyra. Seventeen year old girl attending Terra academy for most her academic career. Then finally the alarm reached what was said to be impossible. Kyra flipped over facing the ceiling on her bed. "Just five more minutes..." She brought down her hand time and time again hitting the table next to her bed. Then her hand came crashing down one more time hitting the alarm clock. She proceeded to roll back onto her side and attempt to go back to sleep for as long as she could. Then, out of nowhere, a burst of light shined brightly into the dark room.
"Ahh, Kyra it is time to get up! We are going to be late for the opening ceremony!" Kyra sat up and slowly opened her eyes half way. She slowly turned her head at the person almost as if she was a robot. Her gaze settled onto the person who dared interrupt her sleep. "Oh, it is just you Claire. You know that old geezer always says the same thing every dammed year." Claire was her roommate and childhood friend. She was around the same height as Kyra and had short blond hair unlike Kyra's long black hair.
Claire was always the more responsible of the two and made it her job to help Kyra lead a more responsible life as well. She usually did this by making her eat better and wake up on time. It has always been this way since five years ago. In reality the two were probably complete opposites in every way. But, this could have been the reason as to why they were such great friends. Claire was good at academics, while Kyra was good at using ability and teaching others. They completed each other almost perfectly in every way.
"H-hey Kyra!!! Don't be going back to sleep!!! We are seriously going to be late!" Kyra slowly rolled over and swung her legs off the side of her bed and letting her feet touch the wooden panel flooring. She stretched and rubbed her eyes. "Fine, I'll get up now. Just stop hassling me about it." Kyra yawned and looked over Claire more carefully. She was already wearing the school's female uniform. Which consisted of a blue dress that went down to a little above knee length. "Ugh private schools and uniforms..." The uniform once again changed this year. Mainly because each year student had a different color scheme, while the younger aged uniforms were completely different. "This year it is blue eh?" Kyra sighed to herself as she reviewed it once again. "The uniforms never fit my personality do they?"
Kyra got up and picked up the bag near the end of her bed, which contained the same uniform Claire wore. She quickly slipped out of her pajamas and put on the school uniform. She then lifted her long hair from the back letting it flow down her back. "There ready to go now." Claire gained a puzzled look upon her face. "You should at least brush you hair and stuff! Your a junior now and the young ones usually look up to the juniors and seniors." Kyra removed a pair of socks and moved the standard school shoes next to her bed, which was still wasn't made. "Fine mother dearest." She mocked the words towards Claire. After all she did fit the role perfectly. "Don't forget to make your bed before we leave." She held out a brush towards Kyra, which she retrieved from a nearby table top.
Kyra sat down on her bed and slipped her socks on before reluctantly taking the brush from Claire. She brushed through her hair quickly hitting many knots, due to her lack of taking care of her hair. She winced at every knot the brush got caught on. " Ow ow ow ow ow." Claire waited and watch and then sighed. "This is why you should take care of yourself a lot better." Kyra laughed as she put down the brush next to her alarm clock. "I probably should, shouldn't I?" She quickly slipped on her shoes and stood up and looked at Claire and made a salute type thing towards her. "Ready to go, almighty boss!" Claire sighed as Kyra laughed.
They headed out their room. Kyra walked in a weird march following Claire. "Please act mature around the little ones..." Kyra laughed at Claire again. "Oh c'mon lighten up a little. You know it is more fun this way." Claire smiled at Kyra briefly. "I guess it is a lot more fun. Never a dull moment with you." They continued down the halls of the girl's dorm, until they reached the entrance hall. The exited through the big glass doors that were the main entrance to the building.
The girls dorm was a good 10 minutes away from the main school grounds by foot and was separated by forest. The boy's dorm was the same, but on the opposite side. So Claire and Kyra walked down the paved road which connected to the school grounds, until they reached the front gate. Kyra stiffened as the approached the gate. "I always hate the feel this school gives me. Plus all the weird occurrences and rumors going around." A grim look came upon her face. "Louis from next door was one of the ones to just... "Disappear." They say not even her friends have the slightest ideas as to what happened to her. I am pretty sure there is something more to this school." Claire knew all to well what Kyra was talking about. She herself noticed the disappearances and they couldn't be ignored easily. The pace as to how fast they were disappearing was increasing. Kyra suddenly walked forward and pushed the gates open and walked in with Claire not too far behind. The gates shut themselves behind the pair.
"The ceremony hall is just up ahead in that building." Claire held out her arm pointing towards a building near the forest side. Above the door there was a clear sign that said, "Welcome Students of Terra academy!"They began to head towards the door when a person appeared. Apparently someone special since the principle himself took time out of his busy schedule just to talk to him. It clicked in shortly after that the person must be a transfer student. "Oh wow... A transfer student who is that old? That is exceedingly rare." Both Claire and Kyra made note that he wasn't wearing the school uniform to the ceremony. "He is going to stick out like a sore thumb at the opening ceremony." The principle stopped talking and disappeared into the main hall of the building with the person following.
They finally entered the building with a few other students following as well. The hall was back with students tables lining the walls. Food was provided with drinks. "Great, they made it into a party again. Oh well, can't complain about free food right?" Claire just stood there and nodded. She was observing the everything as well. "Some of the normal students are missing... I doubt they decided to just "skip" out of the opening ceremony. It isn't in some of their personalities to do something like that." Kyra bit on the edge of her thumb while placing her other hand on her hip. "Tch, I know something strange is going on here at this school. I just don't know what it is and so far it hasn't revealed enough evidence whatever it may be."
The room got silent and the principle took the stand and began his speech. "Here we go the same old thing."
"Greetings my students and welcome to another year at Terra Academy. For many of you, this is not your first opening ceremony but for our new students I wish to extend to you an extra special greeting and salutation!" The president paused for a moment as the audience clapped.
"Told you this was going to be dull... Just like last what I said last year." Claire put on an apologetic smile. " I know, I know, but it doesn't take much to actually attend right? It is more of a formality than anything else. Besides, free food and drink like you said. So it isn't all bad." Kyra laughed at Claire's statement. "You are learning well my friend." Kyra made a futile attempt at sounding wise. "I guess your right though. Free food and drink is always nice." Kyra paused for awhile before she began speaking. "There is an added bonus this year. The transfer student can be swayed to our side. We need to figure out what is happening to the students attending this school."
A hissing type laugh came from behind them. "Welcome to the opening ceremony ladies!" The principle and a male student were behind them. The student had reddish blond hair, which was a rare thing to see. The student's name was Gareth and he was a student president. He was normally seen around the principle, but other times he would be seen in awkward areas. Kyra dismissed any thought of him being a threat though. Gareth was always the helpful one to everyone and he never caused an issue, but he always had that weird hiss laugh of his. Kyra and Claire turned around and bowed to the principle and Gareth as a sign of respect. "No need to be polite now ladies. Just sit back and enjoy the opening ceremony."
With that the two faded into the crowd of students. Kyra slowly scanned over the room looking for something specific. She looked completely around at least three times before she spotted what she had been looking for. The transfer student who talked to the principle earlier. He was sitting down, almost as if he was attempt to look less conspicuous. He failed terribly at it due to his clothing. Everyone else at the ceremony wore their uniform making it all the easier for him to be spotted.
Kyra made a bee's line for the transfer student. Dodging and pushing students along the way with the occasional "Hey!". They quickly hushed up when they saw who it was. Claire followed closely behind ushering apologies to everyone. She finally arrived to where the student it was. She stood there and crossed her arms and looked down at him. "Answer me these three questions. What is your name? What made you come to Terra academy? And finally... What exactly can you do in terms of ability?"

| When you live looking over your shoulder, it isn't hard to recognize when you've drawn someones attention. No sooner had Calintz taken a seat than he noticed a pair of girls. No, just one girl really that seemed to be sizing him up. For a short time afterward he lost sight of her. At first he thought it could have simply been because of his clothing. However this notion was soon shattered as he caught sight of her once again. This time she was on the move. Making a beeline straight towards him. For the faintest fraction of a second he contemplated the possibility that she was somehow out to get him. A quick look at her uniform and some common sense deemed that impossible though so he remained where he was. Calintz averted his gaze as she came close enough that he could hear the startled cries of the people she pushed past. He didn't really want her getting any ideas about him being overly alert or anything.
He couldn't honestly have said what he was expecting to happen when she reached him. It certainly wasn't what did happen. She began her 'introduction' with a series of three demands. "Answer me these three questions. What is your name? What made you come to Terra academy?"And then finally the last question... "What exactly can you do in terms of ability?" All of them were blunt and served to make Calintz feel... not suspicious as such but... reluctant to answer. But he was supposed to be making an effort to fit in to a normal life here after all. With a mental sigh, Calintz looked up with his best 'are you talking to me?' face. Immediately he took in her blue school uniform that went down to her knees. Next he noted her black hair and her height which he assumed to be somewhere around 160 centimeters. Finally, he took note of the other girl he had seen with her earlier. She wore the same uniform as the first girl, but she looked stricken by the way this other girl had approached him. No doubt they were friends, but ultimately neither of them seemed to be threatening him for the moment.
Finally, sensing the girls impatience building, he spoke. His voice clear and firm with the faintest hint of sarcasm that could just as easily have been good natured humor. "Well, since you asked so nicely, my name is Calintz. What, may I ask is yours?" He was greeted by silence so, with yet another mental sigh, he answered her second question. However, partly out of caution and partly out of spite, he told an almost total lie. "I came to this academy because I heard it had excellent academic success and my... parents decided to send me here." He almost gagged when he said the word 'parents' but since he had been eating a small sausage roll that had been brought over on a waiters plate. It would have appeared he simply swallowed a bit the wrong way. He decided it was a waste of time to ask her any questions about herself at this point> So he proceeded to tell another complete lie to answer her third question.
"Ability? I'm not quite sure what you mean. I can play the piano, I'm quite good at a variety of sports and I like to think I'm not a bad hand at poetry either. I also enjoy sunsets and long walks on the beach" he said with exaggerated thoughtfulness, as if any of that was related to the question he had been asked. Although he had never so much as considered writing a word of poetry in his life and had absolutely no real interest in nay of the things he had mentioned, he spoke with such fluency and thoughtful conviction that anyone who didn't know this for a fact, would be left with little reason to doubt him. He paused for a moment after answering the last question before he looked to the girl and then to her friend and then back again."So, if you don't mind me asking, why all the questions?" he decided he was going to play the sweet innocent transfer student until he was sure of these girls intentions or lack thereof. Around them, the other students took no notice of them, although Calintz had the vague impression that this girl was somehow notorious or renowned just based on the reactions of those who she had pushed out of her way on her way over to him.

| Kyra heard his answer in disdain. The look on her face proved it be so. She stood there and waited for a moment and finally snapped. "Tch, what do you mean you know nothing in terms of ability. Just what school do you think your going to?!" Kyra was angry by now. It was clear that he was either an idiot or he was hiding something. Possibly something else in a huge list. All she cared about is that he wasn't answering her questions the way she wanted him to. He had given her a few questions of his own. She believed he may open up a little more if she answered his. Or maybe he wouldn't in the end. Either way he had no idea about the things that were going to happen at this school. Of course neither did Kyra. He was going to be sucked into this whole mess weather he wanted to or not. Kyra sighed a sigh full of frustration. She always was a girl he got agitated easy. Well, more so at some times than others.
"My name is Kyra and my friend a little ways behind me is known as Claire." Claire smiled a small smile and waved. She also had a look on her face that seemed to show an apology of some sort. She remained silent and Kyra tried to gain his attention again. "Well, I am asking you cause it is for your own good. Don't come to me when something bad happens." She knew it was something like a threat, but she wasn't exactly sure if it could be considered one. Especially since the situation would be out of control if it was. For all she knew the school was specifically looking for this guy for a special reason. She didn't know if he was on their side or would be on theirs. Something about the air of him gave that type of feeling though. Like he had a rough life, but if need be he would help. Of course this could all be superstition of a sorts and she had it all wrong, but she stuck with her gut feeling... Kinda.
"Since I answered yours... Will you please answer mine?" She was a little more calm now, due to her voice raising from earlier. The students of course ignored her as if they were accustom to her getting angry. In truth they wanted no part in it. A strand of hair fell in front of her face and she quickly brushed it back behind her ear. Just then a guy approached the three from the crowd of students who backed away when they noticed who it was. It was one of the strongest seniors at the school. He went by the name Himun. His skin was a brownish color showing he was from a different decent. Like he was Indian or Mexican. No one at the school was positive as to what he was. Especially since he stayed away and just simply banished from everyone else when class is finished. His name was also something of a mystery. No one in the whole school has heard the name before and the school has students from all over the world.
Even if he was a complete mystery, his power wasn't. It has been said that he would take Kyra out with ease. Of course these rumors angered her and on countless attempts she tried to start a fight with him, but somehow he always managed to dodge it all together. The times she actually had a good chance of starting a fight he would always respond the same way by stating he wouldn't start a fight with a girl. All the students cleared as far away as possible from experience. Himun walked up and waved. "Ah, Claire what are you doing over here? Especially with that brute of a girl." He always had the tendency to insult her whenever they met. There was also the rumor he had a crush on Claire. Mainly cause he always made a special appearance and only appeared in front of her.
Kyra was now extremely pissed off. Mainly due to seeing his face and his insult. She charged in attempting to punch him square in the jaw. Himun dodged it easily by stepping back two steps. "Oh my, how unladylike like. You should really learn from Claire." Kyra went down and tried to sweep his feet from underneath him and he jumped over her kick like nothing. "Fight me dammit! I am tired of your BS!" Himun laughed and responded quickly. "And why should I fight you? You aren't even worth my time. I have no idea why people are even afraid of you. Plus you are only a girl." He laughed again and Kyra bit down grinding her teeth. This time Kyra charged forward unleashing a flurry of attacks. He was dodging the attacks easily. "That is it! I am going serious now!" Kyra stopped for a second and the bottom of the dress slowly ripped as if moved by an invisible wind. Her hair also moved in the same way.
Then all of a sudden Himun jumped back and the wooden flooring shattered where he was standing previously. "Tsk, tsk, using your ability now?" Kyra charged again this time with a her ability plus her regular attacks. He dodged everything that was sent at him. Even Kyra's invisible attacks. Kyra's breathing was getting heavy. "Dammit! How can you see my ability?!" Himun shrugged as if he didn't know. "It is most likely because your just a simple amateur. Your moves are too easy to read." Kyra then sent a long range wave and managed to hit him in the face. Himun's head whipped over to the side and the crowd of students gasped. It was shortly followed by whispers and such from the crowd. "Look who the amateur is now." Kyra let a smile smile creep onto her face.
His head returned to it's normal position. "Oh? You think your good just because you managed to hit me once." The wound from the attack showed as a little blood trickled from the edge of his mouth. He wiped it off with the sleeve of his black senior uniform. "I haven't even thrown a single attack yet. Aren't you getting a little cocky?" Himun suddenly disappeared and reappeared behind Kyra. He sent out a single punch which connected and sent Kyra flying. Luckily her fall was cushioned by the crowed, which was a good 300 centimeters away. She hit three other students knocking them over upon impact. "Tsh, I am surprised you were able to react fast enough." Kyra slowly picked herself off the ground. "Ugh, dammit how did you move that fast?" Himun laughed again. Kyra was also clearly the one who was losing this fight. "It is simple, it is because it is part of my ability!" No one really seen everything Himun's ability could do. So it wasn't exactly a surprise when he did something like that. "What fascinates me is that you were able to block some of my attack with a barrier. Here I was thinking I had to hold back as not to kill you." The power difference was painfully obvious to her now and the rumors weren't just made up stories.
He disappeared again appearing next to Kyra. "I believe that is all for today." He turned his attention over to Claire. "I will see you later!~" He looked over to the Transfer student with a look of disgust for some reason and then just disappeared. Claire rushed over to Kyra and helped her stand properly. "Are you ok Kyra?" Kyra didn't say anything and just nodded. Her pride and such was shattered in a single punch. The whole room remained in silence after the event for awhile. The principle must have left because no one came to lecture her. They walked over to the transfer student who was now known as Calintz and pulled a chair over and sat down.
Kyra still breathed heavily from the fit and her injury. "Claire, please go get me something to drink." Claire nodded and ran off to get Kyra a drink. "I am sorry about that. That man just pisses me off to no end. Ont op of that I now know I am not even close to as good as him." Kyra's expression became gloom. "You said your name is Calintz right? Do you think you could answer my questions now?" Claire came back with a drink and handed it to Kyra. Kyra took it and eagerly drank it till it was empty. Apparently the drink was sweet, meaning it was most likely juice or something to that effect. Before Calintz could answer anything she got up. "Never mind for now, I am not in the mood anymore." With that she left the ceremony and left the transfer student alone.

| It quickly dawned on Calintz that this girl was a fiery one. Upon hearing Calintz’s mock answers she looked like she might have been about to explode. Sure enough, after a short pause, she let loose at him. "Tch, what do you mean you know nothing in terms of ability. Just what school do you think you’re going to?!" She appeared to look him over again, probably trying to decide if he was just an idiot who made a mistake in coming to the academy. Finally, a look of what appeared to be pity flashed across her featured before she changed tactics.
Abandoning the blunt approach and going for something a little more normal. With a visible effort to calm herself, the girl introduced herself. This time using a much more civil and agreeable tone. "My name is Kyra and my friend a little ways behind me is known as Claire." Calintz looked over the girls- who he now knew to be Kyra- shoulder at the other girl he had noticed earlier. “It’s a pleasure to meet you both” he commented politely in response to Kyra’s introduction. But she wasn’t finished yet.
Kyra went on to add, “I am asking you cause it is for your own good. Don't come to me when something bad happens." This puzzled Calintz as well as sending a cold chill down his spine from the sincerity with which Kyra spoke. Whatever she was talking about, it seemed to be something serious. She then came back to her first line of questioning, again with a much more moderate method the second time around. "Since I answered your [questions]... Will you please answer mine?"
Calintz was somewhat taken aback by Kyra’s sudden change in attitude. He was also both intrigued and confused by her vague mention of ‘something bad happening.’ Sadly, before he could reply or ask for further clarification, someone else arrived. So engrossed in his conversation with Kyra, Calintz had failed to notice the boy arrive until he was practically right next to them. He appeared to be a senior at a glance. He also stood out from those around him due to his dark skin.
The first thing he noticed was that Kyra visibly stiffened when she noticed him. Then the newcomer spoke, but not to Kyra but to Claire. "Ah, Claire what are you doing over here? Especially with that brute of a girl?" This was interesting to Calintz. His first assumption was that this guy was keen on Kyra’s friend Claire. It could also be assumed that there was more than a little animosity between Kyra and this new guy. Although there were so many possibilities as to why that Calintz decided it was best not to try and choose one.
In any case, it quickly became clear that this animosity was not something Calintz had imagined. The reason for this was because Kyra responded to the boys comment by trying to smack him one in the face. Before Calintz could think to mention that by doing so she was simply serving to prove his point about her being a brute, the boy jeered her again. "Oh my, how unladylike like. You should really learn from Claire."
Again, it occurred to Calintz to point out to this boy that jeering the girl that he likes best friend was not the smartest strategy, Kyra went down and tried to sweep his feet from underneath him. However this proved unsuccessful as the boy displayed excellent reflexes by jumping fluently over the attack. At this stage Calintz could see that this guy was obviously quite skilled, but he also recognised that there was very little he could do to resolve this peacefully. So, he had no real option but to let events unfold and hope for the best.
"Fight me dammit! I am tired of your BS!" Calintz almost laughed at Kyra’s self censoring, but decided that she was a girl after all. No matter how tomboyish and rough around the edges. He was snapped back to the present as the boy spoke again. "And why should I fight you? You aren't even worth my time. I have no idea why people are even afraid of you. Plus you are only a girl." Calintz had only known Kyra for a short time, but even he could tell that those were words that would set Kyra off. Sure enough, Kyra launched an immediate offensive.
Calintz was impressed by the style of her attacks, but even more so by the fluency with which he dodged them. This elicited even more rage as Kyra shouted, "That is it! I am going serious now!" Calintz felt a tingle run down his spine, as he always did when someone nearby used an ability and knew that things were about to get much, much worse. Kyra stopped for a second and the bottom of the dress slowly ripped as if moved by an invisible wind. Her hair also moved in the same way. Then all of a sudden Himun jumped back and the wooden flooring shattered where he had been only moments earlier.
"Tsk, tsk, using your ability now?" He was clearly gloating at this point and Calintz, who was still seated had the very faintest urge to stand up and smack him one right in the nose. He restrained this urge though, in fact, he was surprised no one had come to break up the fight. Perhaps this was part of academy life. Kyra charged at him, apparently sending everything she had at him. Calintz figured this from the constant tingles he was getting as she attacked. However, to Calintz’s disappointment, he still managed to dodge everything. Including the invisible attacks Calintz couldn’t even see.
Kyra was beginning to show signs of fatigue by now and still the other boy hadn’t lifted a finger to attack her. "Dammit! How can you see my ability?!" She was breathing heavily now and it appeared the boy continued to taunt her with a shrug. "It is most likely because your just a simple amateur. Your moves are too easy to read." Kyra must have landed a desperate attack at that point, because his head suddenly snapped sideways as though he had been punched. "Look who the amateur is now." Kyra said, a certain element of self satisfaction creeping into her voice.
The boy seemed largely unfazed though as he straightened himself from the attack. "Oh? You think your good just because you managed to hit me once. I haven't even thrown a single attack yet. Aren't you getting a little cocky?" Although he had a very bad opinion of this guy and he didn’t want to admit it, he was right. For all outward appearances, it looked as though he had her totally outclassed in this skirmish at least. Then, in a movement so fast Calintz almost missed it entirely, he closed in on Kyra and delivered a blow that sent her reeling into the nearby onlookers.
"Tsh, I am surprised you were able to react fast enough." He said, although to Calintz he hadn’t seen any real evidence of a block and figured that this must hyave been yet another examble of an ability he couldnt physically see. Kyra got up off the ground and groaned. "Ugh, dammit how did you move that fast?" "It is simple, it is because it is part of my ability!" Calintz nodded to himself, clearly the tingles he had gotten were not only from Kyra. Although he couldnt pinpoint what his power actually was, it was clearly something that gave him the edge over Kyra. Or perhaps it was something that would lsoe its edge if he lost the element of surprise. It didn’t matter now in any case. It was painfully obvious that this round at least, was over.
"I believe that is all for today." He said with more than a little contempt. He then turned to Kyra’s friend, Clair and in a totally different tone he said, "I will see you later!~" It was only then that he seemed to take in Calintz’s presence as a spectator and shot him a dirty look. On top of what he had just witnessed, it was almost enough to make Calintz rise to the occassion and have a go himself. But he restrained himself. It wasn’t the best idea to make such a display on his first day.
Looking back at Kyra, he saw Clair help her up and fetch her a drink. Despite his initial misgivings, he now felt a certain sympathy for the girl. It was never an easy thing coming of such a defeat. Especially to such an arrogant bastard as that boy obviously was. "You said your name is Calintz right? Do you think you could answer my questions now?" No sooner had she said this, she seemed to reconsider, her expession becoming even more gloomy. "Never mind for now, I am not in the mood anymore." With that, she left along with Claire. Leaving Calintz alone but with much to think about.
No longer in the mood to hang around in the crowd of people he didn’t know, Calintz asked for directions to the boys dorms and left. It took 10 minutes to arrive there, but once he did he found his room easily enough. His room was labelled VII, which he assumed was just a fancy way of saying room 7. He entered to find his gear already placed neatly at the foot of his bed. The room was large, but not overly so. He had a bed, a kitchen and a bathroom that was large enough to hold a sink, a toilet and a seperate shower cubicle. Impressed, Calintz took 15 minutes to unpack his things and put them away where they belonged. Then, looking outside into the now night time sky, he decided to call it quits and go to sleep.
The following day went quickly for Calintz. Since no classes were scheduled, he simply woke up and wandered down to the mess hall. Still feeling somewhat isolated, heate breakfast at a table with others, but not joining in the conversation. A conversation which coincidentally was about last nights skirmish between Kyra and the boy- whose name turned out to be Himun. After listening to the opinions of the table on the fight, Calintz finished his meal and left.
He spent the majority of the day simply exploring the grounds. As expected the campus was huge an had everythiugn from tennis courts to swimming pools. He wandered the corrridors from classroom to classroom (all of which were empty) and before he knew it, it was dusk. He had not seen Kyra, Clair or Himun that day, but after a quick check of the class rosters, he found that he had been placed in a class with all three of them. With a rueful smile, he thought of the tension that would surely exist between Himun and Kyra, but then let his thoughts drift away.
With the end of a very uneventful day, Calintz went to bed with the promise of weapons class the next morning. It was whil he was debating wether to hold back or not or if he should show off that he drifted off to sleep.
When he next awoke, Calintz eagerly lept out of bed. After a quick shower and a change of clothes (Calintz had not been provided with a uniform and had no intention of getting one unless instructed to do so) he was ready to go. Slaming down a quick breakfast, Calintz made his way to training field B4 for weapons class. He arrived at the same time as a large group of students in his class and after a few minutes of chatter, the teacher arrived and the lesson began. Calintz tuned out of the elcture on whatever fundamentals the teacher was prattling about. He had spent years honing his skills with many weapons and had no need for fundamentals. Instead, he scanned the crowd for the three faces he knew. Soon enough he found Claire, and by extension Kyra who was by her side.
Next. He found Himun, who was gazing at Clair like a lost puppy. Calintz’s thoughts were interrupted as the instructor, apparently done with her explanation called out at the class. “Alright everyone, partner up. We’ll begin with sparring practice for a bit of fun." With a sigh, Calintz began looking around for a partner but to no avail. Most of the students had paired up immediately with their friends, so it looked like it was going to be a matter opf who was left over. As the numbers dwindled, it became more and more apparent who that leftover peson was going to be. Himun was given a wide berth by all and Calintz was willing to be it had something to do with his skill.
Inevitably, Calintz’s predition came to pass and the teacher, seeing them both standing idl;e, decreed that they were partners. This elicited some whispers from the other pairs, but Calintz simply shrugged and gave a half hearted smile to Himun. He, by contrast looked bored. Calintz grinned as he thought of how he would probably have much raher preferred to have been Clair’s partner. Although he would have been willing to bet that she had probably partnered Kyra.
The teacher then wheeled out a very large case, which unfolded ingeniously nito a weapon rack. The rack contained a vast assortment of weapons (all of which were blunt) but every single one that Calintz appraised, he found a flaw with. His hand gripped the air subconsciously, wishing for his own weapon, but in the end he simply picked the last weapon left to him. A over sized dagger halfway between a regular dagger and a short sword. Clearly it had been neglected for its short length- as it was the shortest weapon on offer. Himun on the other hand had taken a longsword which he was now twirling deftly in his hands.
“Alright students, the duel will continue for the best of 3 hits." The instructor, an ageing woman in her ealry 40’s smiled. "Those who have finished can watch those who havent.” With that being said, each pair took up a single arena, which were spaced evenly over the field and were 5 meters in diameter each. Calintz faced off against Himun, who still looked bored. Then the teacher called, “Ready? Then everyone can begin!” The sounds of weapons clashing soon filled the air, but Calintz and Himun simply stood still, watching each other intently.

| Kyra exited the ceremony and finally let the real shock from the pain set in. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED IN THERE!" Tears rolled down her cheeks as she hit the wall, which made her hands hurt due to it being made out of concrete. She collapsed to the ground in anguish. Her body couldn't support her anymore as her pain was immense throughout her entire body. She placed her head against the wall letting her hair cover her face completely. "Why?... Why couldn't I do anything? This is so completely unfair. What have I worked so hard on all this time?! Was it all for nothing?! Claire tell me what I can do please?" Tears sparkled in the remaining light of the day as they fell from her cheeks. Her arms slid down and hit the ground hard. "I need to beat him... I need to be stronger than anyone else." She sniffled a little and wiped her tears with her sleeve. "Tell me Claire? What have we worked so hard for?" She looked up and over to Claire who remained in silence. Claire's face looked just as down as hers. "I'm sorry Kyra... I don't know."
"I see... I worked so hard and he just always makes a mockery out of me. I just don't know what to do anymore. When did I become so weak? Maybe I was always weak and just didn't it realize it till now." Kyra was devastated by the loss. It wasn't even a fight to Himun. She was just a toy throwing mindless attacks. Claire bent down and helped Kyra back to her feet. Kyra being unwilling to stand at first begin to rise. Kyra's face being a complete mess from crying. "Look Kyra... There is nothing else you can do besides look to the future. Look into the future and become stronger. Don't look into the past and see this as a loss. Look at it as a win as it allowed you to build again from new. Granting a new power to you... As now you can't go down and only rise up." Claire smiled at Kyra and Kyra couldn't help but cry more. Claire moved in and hugged Kyra. She slowly rubbed Kyra's hair. "There there, let it all out." In reality Kyra may appear tough, but in the end she was just as fragile as anyone else. She has her reasons for trying to be the strongest. One of those reasons was that her parents deserted her and called her a monster. All because they couldn't accept her ability. She wanted to prove she could be something more. So she put the persona of being tough on ever since. Kyra was really doing everything she could to protect herself and Claire. From the world... From the school... They were both alone until they met. Only when they became friends did they realize they weren't alone.
-Flash back of their meeting.-
They met far back on a beautiful spring day. They were both in fifth grade at the time and Kyra was crying on the roof alone. Her parents finally gave up on her and decided it was best to just abandon her. "Mommy... Daddy.... Why did you leave me!!?!" She sat there crying as hard as she could into her hands. She cried for an hour straight before Claire came up onto the roof. The sun was setting and Kyra was starting to calm down. "So what happened to you?" Kyra jumped as she wasn't expecting anyone to find her. "None of your business!" Kyra's eyes began to cry more. They were hurting from so much crying, but she couldn't stop.
Claire had always been the more mature one from the beginning... If Claire never appeared she may have disappeared by now. "It is better to share your sorrows with someone else and share the weight of the burden." She smiled at Kyra who was crying at full force again. Claire sat down next to her and leaned back against the wall. "It is better not to cry so much otherwise you may not be able to smile anymore." Kyra looked up at Claire through her tears "What?! No way... I can't stop... It hurts too much. Why did mommy and daddy leave... Now I am alone with no one to talk to." Claire rubbed Kyra's hair making it a mess. "How about this. I will be your friend ok? Just be strong... My parents also abandoned me so you aren't alone." Claire smiled warmly at Kyra again. Kyra sniffled and forced herself to stop crying, which took a lot of effort. Kyra stood up and declared she would be strong enough to protect both of them. "I promise ok? I will be strong enough for both of us and protect us from this world that decided to toss us aside!" Claire stood up and nodded at Kyra. "Now that is the spirit!" From that day onwards they were inseparable and Kyra became tough and buried her emotions to keep her promise. Weather she appeared cold and harsh on the outside. It was all to protect herself and Claire from the world. Through the years she also gained a reputation of being one of the strongest never losing a fight until the one with Himun.
-Back to Normal time.-
"Now let's go get you bandaged up. Your bleeding aren't you?" Kyra nodded. The hit she took from Himun was far more powerful than the others saw. If she didn't block in time she may have been placed into critical condition. Blood was staining the side of her school uniform where she was punched and probably had one or two fractured ribs. She also had a fairly large bump on her head, which she received from when she hit the crowd. "Stop crying now... Remember what you said that one day. I plan to hold you to that kay?" Kyra could only nod as she wiped away her tears. "let's go back to our dorm and get you patched up. Nor can we let anyone see you like this." With that Kyra wiped away the last of her tears and the two wandered back to their dorm.
When they arrived back to the dorm Claire pulled out the hidden first aide kit that every room seemed to have. The funny part is that not many knew of its existence due to it being hidden so well. "You are going to need to take your uniform off for me to bandage you. Also I am going to need to get the blood out of it in two days for school." Kyra took off her uniform and observed the wound. It was really purple and it had a decent sized cut. From this wound was where the blood came from. Claire opened the kit up and searched through it until she found the roll of bandages. She pulled it out and wrapped it around Kyra's chest around where she was punched. She wrapped it in a complete circle covering the wound completely and layered in several areas. After finished Claire grabbed Kyra some casual clothes, which Kyra put on quickly. "Let me bandage that bump on your head. There is no shame in showing a wound." Kyra nodded. "They will all think I am weak now. I couldn't even take a single hit from Himun. My ability couldn't even do that much either! I am sorry Claire..." Claire wrapped a bandage around Kyra's head where the wound was and made it so Kyra's hair would cover the backside of the bandage and not mess with her hair at all.
"There, all done. Try not to strain yourself too much and you will be fine in no time." Claire placed her hand on Kyra's forehead and her hand slightly glowed. Kyra's head felt a lot better and she realized how much her chest hurt now. Claire's hand moved down to the would on Kyra's side and slightly glowed again. After 5 minutes she finished. "I did all I could for now. I did the best to my ability, but be careful. You aren't completely healed and it still would take time to feel back to normal." Kyra nodded and smiled for the first time since the incident today. "Thank you Claire. I am going to take your advice and get stronger." Claire smiled back and handed her a small box from the fridge. "I knew you would. After all I knew you wouldn't go back on your promise. Here is some food for when you get hungry." Kyra laughed. "Thank you Claire... I don't know what I would do without you." Due to Claire's ability Kyra was able to move almost as if she was fine. The stress from her upcoming training would not make her injuries worsen either. Kyra grabbed the food Claire had offered and ran out the door at full speed.
~"Thank you Claire... If I ever lost you I don't know what I would do. I may even lose my mind and collapse..."
"These memories are fading... This day... Why can't it start over and return to a more peaceful time? I wish this day never came... I would do anything to have you return... I miss the old days... I miss the normality... The times you would scold me for leaving a mess in our room or me being a mess all together. The times we would laugh... And everything else in between."~
~Kyra rushed out of the door full speed with her belongings. She wouldn't let Claire down again. She was the only person she could trust and possibly the person who saved her life all those years ago. In reality they both felt like crying... But Kyra did all the crying for them that day. They were both thrown away and treated like monsters after their abilities were shown. They felt like sisters and no one would be able to step into their world so easily. They would protect themselves from the people that deemed them monsters and show them that they are normal just like everyone else and gain a normal life like anyone else. Just because of their stupid abilities... Their world became completely different. Of course this is just all a repeat of the obvious... But this is the day the world turned upside down and the day... Kyra failed to uphold her promise... The day that no one that survived the incident at Terra Institution would forget and the day the truth was revealed.~
Morning came too quickly and Kyra was found collapsed under a tree near the girl's dorm. Luckily Claire found her and woke her up in time for school. "Heeeeyyyyyy Kyyrrrrraa!" Claire nudged Kyra on her shoulder. Kyra rolled over. "Mmm, just 5 more minutes." Claire laughed. "Some things never change do they? C'mon Kyra!! Your going to be late for the first day of school. Plus I am surprised you slept out here for two days without a sleeping bag." Kyra slowly got up and rubbed her eyes. "Morning already?" Kyra stood up and looked around almost confused as to how she got there. "I brought your uniform with me so hurry up and change otherwise we are going to be late." Kyra sighed. "No breakfast??! I am so hungry at the moment." Kyra's belly grumbled and she changed quickly into her uniform. "Haha, your going to need to wait till lunch to eat."
Kyra sighed in frustration. She was really really hungry. She accidentally ate too much one night leaving her short on the good she gave her. They walked towards school with Kyra's constant stomach grumbles. "So how did your training go?" Kyra's face looked as if she was staring far off. Kyra said nothing for awhile and only the sound of birds could be heard. "It was a success!" Kyra laughed and smiled cheerfully. "I learned something amazing during the short time I trained. I will be able to keep my promise and stay strong enough for both of us." She wore a silly grin and the bandages on her forehead made it seem even more silly. Claire couldn't help but laugh. "That is good to hear." The rest of the way to school was filled with pointless conversation about tests and other things.
They arrived to school with a little time to spare before class. "So what do we got first?" A look of surprise came upon Claire's face. "You seriously don't know what we got for first class?" Kyra nodded and Claire couldn't help but let go of a nervous laugh. "Well it is weapon arts class first." Kyra grinned. "I can use this to blow off some steam I still got stored." They wandered to class where other students were gathering. The teacher already being there as well. The school bell rang signaling school to begin. “Alright everyone, partner up. We’ll begin with sparring practice for a bit of fun." Most of the students had paired up immediately with their friends.
Kyra looked around before making any decisions. She noticed the transfer student quickly since he painfully stood out with wearing normal clothing. She then noticed Himun and felt sick. She lost all mood for this and decided to drag Claire with her and leave class. "C'mon Claire let's get out of here." Kyra's face was serious. Meaning that it was best for her to just be quiet and follow her. The teacher made no attempt to stop the pair for some odd reason ignoring them as they went by. Both Claire and Kyra ended up on the roof which took a good 4 minutes to get there from the class. By now everyone had a training weapon and the teacher was ready to give out more instructions. “Alright students, the duel will continue for the best of 3 hits." The instructor, an aging woman in her early 40’s smiled. "Those who have finished can watch those who haven't.” With that being said, each pair took up a single arena, which were spaced evenly over the field and were 5 meters in diameter each.
Kyra put her back against the fence of the roof which prevented people from jumping off or accidentally falling off. She looked over her shoulder and noticed the new student and Himun were sparring off. "I gotta see this fight. Maybe I will finally get one of my questions answered." Kyra observed them with interest.

| The sparring partners around them rang with the clash of metal. But all that seemed to become a cocoon of noise around them as they faced off. Not for the first time, Calintz was annoyed by the apparent disinterest Himun was showing in him. He even looked off to the side to observe Clair and Kyra walking together past the instructor. With a sigh of impatience, Calintz addressed Himun for the first time.
"Look, I know you're terrified of losing to me, but honestly, I promise not to rub it in." In truth, it wasn't an entirely empty bluff. Calintz knew damn well that his skills with almost any weapon could be referred to as mastery. But Calintz had pegged himun as a prideful type, so such a confident boast surely wouldn't go unanswered. Lo and behold, he was right. No sooner had the words left his mouth than Himun's head jerked to look at him. Calintz had only spoken loud enough for Himun to hear it. But to an onlooker, it would appear that Calintz had just gotten his attention.
"You spineless worm, I'll show you exactly what you're dealing with. You and your tiny knife!" Calintz glanced down at the very short sword he was carrying. Then to Himun's longsword. "Yeah... I guess this handicap does make us about even doesn't it?" The fierce glint in Himuns eyes and the twitch of his muscles gave away his intentions before he could even come close to hitting Calintz. With a powerful one handed swing that whistled through the air, he went on the offensive. This was important to Calintz as in the last time he saw Himun fight, he preferred to be reactive rather than proactive. He also suspected that he liked to show off by dodging or otherwise nullifying the opponents attacks. Calintz was, for lack of a better explanation, initiating intellectual warfare.
Elsewhere, other duels were beginning to finish and crowds gathered around some of the other rings as friends watched friends compete against each other. For the time being, nobody was paying much mind to what was going on in Calintz and Himuns ring. That was about to change. As Himun came after Calintz with a vengeance, Calintz sidestepped, swayed and otherwise maintained just out of his reach at all times. Admittedly, there were several instances where it would have been easier to dodge. But this was all going according to Calintz's plan to ultimately humiliate this upstart. Himun either started to catch on to Calintz's intentions, or he decided to simply re evaluate his options. Because he stopped his frenzy as soon as it had begun. He then seemed to be analyzing Calintz anew. "I'll admit you're a little better than i thought." He said slowly, as if each word pained him.
Calintz just flashed him a grin. Raising his blade in a gesture for him to come on. "Warm up's over now, I'll take you seriously now" Calintz said seriously. He then moved in with a series of deft jabs that forced Himun to dodge, while leaving him unable to counter with his much larger weapon. At this point, skill had very little to do with the battle, Calintz was simply taking advantage of the laws of physics. Himun was strong, but not strong enough to make up for the difference between the size and weight differences in their weapons. That was at least, until he began wielding the blade two handed. Ignoring Calintz's flurry of strikes, he simply stepped back and then moved forwards with a powerful horizontal swing. Calintz ducked the swing, holding himself inches of the ground with his free hand for balance. He then had to roll to the side in order to avoid being cleaved in two very messily as Himun's blade crashed into the sandy ground.
By now, a few students had come to spectate and were amazed that the duel was still going. When one of them asked what the score was, a ripple of surprise ran through the crowd as someone informed them that so far, it was a dead heat. Meanwhile, inside the ring Calintz was doing the best he could with what he had at hand. Unless the opponent is a total novice, such a difference in weapons in one on one combat was tantamount to an unbridgeable gap. The reach of the weapon and the weight behind the strikes were completely different. But sword play was one of Calintz's fortes and he had no intention of letting Himun win. Especially not just because the statistics said he should. Himun seemed to be growing frustrated with Calintz's largely non- offensive approach, and he redoubled his own efforts as a result. Calintz was beginning to find that the arena was far too small. As Himun dealt a particularly nasty blow level with Calintz's knee's, he jumped and somersaulted straight at Himun. HE came out of the trick and firmly planted both his feet against Himuns chest in a flying kick. Himun staggered back under the impact while Calintz used him as a spring board to flip backwards and land lightly on his feet.
That well and truly tore the basket for Himun. Someone obviously used to being mysterious and respected, had little patience for Calintz's antics. Calintz felt a slight tingle before suddenly Himun was bearing down on him, already halfway through a slash that would most likely break Calintz right shoulder if it connected. Mostly through instinct rather than any conscious action, Calintz brought his own blade up and blocked the blow against the hilt guard. His own dulled blade slammed against him, but that didn't count as a hit. But one thing that was apparent was that Himun had just used his ability in the middle of a sparring match. That meant that from then on, all bets were off. This was compounded by another tingle and this time an explosion igniting above Calintz's head. By now, everyone else, even if their duels had finished or not, had come to watch this spectacle.
Calintz now found himself dodging to and fro like a man possessed as small bouts of fire erupted at his feet. So this was part of his power- pyrokinesis. Skidding to a halt near the boundary of the arena, Calintz had a brief respite as Himun spoke. "You have no idea who or what you're dealing with. Give up now and this can end in your loss and nothing more." Calintz straightened up and considered this for a moment. Then he pointed to the 5 meter ring theyw ere confined to. "I find this rather stiffling. Would you mind if we extended it?" He kicked at it with his feet as he spoke to make his point. Himun just laughed before a sudden flash of fire scorched away the rope ring that had been there moments before. "It's your frickin funeral, friend." He snarled the last word before resuming his mixed melee and ability offensive.
"Well hell, if you're going to take it up a notch, then I will as well!" Calintz yelled as he dodged a large sphere of fire that was launched at him by Himura. With that said, he threw his small sword aside with a sigh of relief. As though he was casting off a heavy burden. "Damn that thing is so frickin heavy, it's no wonder why I prefer... this" As Calintz spoke several things happened at once. Himun launched a second fireball but it was what calintz did that astonished those present. One moment his hands were undeniably empty. The next, they burst to life with something that looked like a cross between lightning, fire and what spirit would probably look like if it were visible at all. In a matter of split seconds, thiss blue 'energy' condensed and was replaced by a very large sword. Calintz wasted no time in swinging it around in an arc like a toothpick before bringing it crashing down on the fireball and making it dissipate in mid air. "Alright Himun, the real match starts here." He said, flourishing his blade as he did so.
"So, this is your ability?" Himun scoffed with contemptuous arrogance. "If all you can do is make a big sword appear, then you are far out of your league!" As he made this proclamation, he charged at Calintz, his longsword coming forwards in an upwards. Calintz's reaction may have been considered odd at that point. For he made no move to meet Himun's charge, he simply took up what could be resembled as a tennis stance. But almost immediately he was engulfed in an aura of blue energy, much like what had appeared before. This energy could then be seen flowing down and into his blade. The entire process took less than 2 seconds but the difference was huge. Calintz brought his sword upwards, again as if it weighed no more than a stick and brought it to bear against Himun's.
Like a hot knife through butter, Calintz's sword swept through his hapless foes, leaving him holding a hilt attached to about 3 inches of metal. The now useless tip fell to the ground with a dull thump. Himun simply stared dumbly at his now useless weapon and then at Calintz. "I call that one blade break." Calintz commented idly, much like one would comment on the weather, or something equally mundane. "I'm sure you can see why. In any case, this duel is over."
Himun looked confused, "Bullshit! You didn't even..." he trailed off as the crowd began to whisper animatedly amongst themselves. Then he looked down at himself to see two vertical gashes in his clothing that stretched from both shoulders straight down to the bottom of his shirt. Calintz casually remarked, "I believe those two 'hits' and the one earlier make 3. That's more than enough to make this my win." The crowd now broke out into a dull roar as they discussed this revelation with considerable fervor. But Calintz maintained a look of dissatisfaction despite his apparent victory. The reason for that being, that he knew without a shadow of a doubt that his opponent had been holding back significantly. He let his mysterious sword fade back into the nothingness from whence it came with a strange feeling of incompleteness. It was a hollow victory to be sure.
Finally, the instructor managed to retake control of the class. With barely a mention of Calintz and Himun's duel, she congratulated the class on a wonderful first lesson back and dismissed them. Himun departed very quickly and Calintz was tempted to do the same. However Kyra and Clair watching him from atop a nearby building. He wondered briefly if they had enjoyed his little show. But then it occurred to him that now was a good chance to find out more about what Kyra had been talking about during the opening ceremony. He approached them slowly, greeting bother Kyra and Clair before getting down to business. "What exactly where you talking about when you mentioned bad things happening the other night?" The question was addressed solely at Kyra, but he wasn't sure if Clair would contribute to the answer or not. It seemed likely that whatever Kyra knew Clair knew as well. he now had reason to suspect that whatever this whole issue was, Himun was somehow involved. The sooner he found out what he had gotten himself into, the better he thought. He then shouted again, "It'd be handy if guys came down, I don't really want to shout for this entire conversation!"

| Kyra was quite impressed with how the fight turned out. "He actually won the spar... That was surprising. I didn't think the transfer student actually stood a chance, let alone win." Kyra laughed silently to herself and shrugged. "Well we at least know he is capable of fighting. Especially against someone like Himun. I have to say I am impressed." She turned away and faced Claire. "I think we are going to need him... I don't know how deep these incidents go. We will need every tiny piece of help we can get." Claire pointed out behind Kyra. "I think he sees us."
Without another seconds delay a voice rang out from behind the two. It was Calnitz's voice. Kyra shrugged again as the voice called out. In all honesty she was annoyed that he actually beat Himun. Himun was her target and she was quite disappointed with what happened. She wanted revenge for the other night but this person came along and defeated Himun on their first attempt. No matter how annoyed she was with the results she needed this "Calintz" on their side. These disappearances are completely abnormal by any means. More and things are pointing to the school for disappearances. On top of which they always say the same thing to the students. "They have learned how to control their powers and isn't a threat to society anymore. They are allowed to return home." The thing is, both of them knew these disappearances were as normal as they exclaimed. Both Claire and Kyra knew that some of the people that "disappeared" had no connection outside of the academy. Also the fact that the next person to disappear was close to the previous person. Weather they be related or a close friend to the said person. The fact is Claire and Kyra did their research. Revealing all sorts of information about the previous person's disappearance. Most of the time the schools "excuse" was reasonable and justified in some way. Except for those few, yet many disappearances that made no sense from several people. Also the fact they never said bye to anyone. Isn't it strange just to vanish without saying bye to any of your friends? Just disappear... Without saying by to the people who grew up with you. "I can't let this continue any longer Claire. There are many here who are in the same position as us. They don't deserve to suffer anymore."
She turned around and looked down towards Calintz. "Bad things huh?" She said this only loud enough for herself to hear. A look of sorrow also showed in her face. "Just because we are abnormal doesn't make us monsters. It just makes us special and different from everyone else. People truly don't like people who stand out from the crowd, so we have been dumped inside of this school." Kyra looked up into the sky watching the clouds lazily list by. She decided she should answer him now. Especially since a couple of minutes passed and she didn't respond to him. "Hmph, may as well get there quick and show off a little in the process. My so called training increased my power almost ten fold and opened up some pretty amazing in my disposal." She turned around and smiled at Claire. "Watch this and you'll see my training wasn't a waste."
Kyra turned and faced the fence and then jumped. As she jumped the ground moved a little under here feet. She jumped clear over the fence and was falling from the roof. Claire ran to the fence. She was amazed at the same time worried. She had never seen her do something like this before. Before she hit the ground she moved her hands downwards. Upon doing this the ground exploded as she hit the ground raising dust into the are and creating a loud boom sound. The ground was a decent ways down from the roof. If somewhere were to have jumped down normally they would break a few bones. A minute passed by and as the dust was clearing Kyra came out coughing. She waved her hand in front of her face. " Cough cough, phew. Remind me not to do that again unless it was needed." Dust and dirt got all over her clothes and into her eyes making them water. Upon exiting the dust field she began to pat herself off, attempting to remove the dust from her clothes. She continued walking till she was in normal talking distance of Calintz. "Nice little show you put on back there. Enjoying your first day of school transfer student?" She said in a half mocking tone.
"Anyways you may not be aware of this, but just by entering this school you have a chance of disappearing. I believe the school is behind it. I am also not sure just who is involved in this entire incident, like who is behind it and such. I gave you a straight answer. Now I expect some from you. Who exactly are you and why did you come to this school?" Kyra looked down at her feet, which were still dirty from her earlier stunt. "Also, Claire and me need your help. Since you are a transfer student and only recently came here. I figured it would be best, especially since you have minimal involvement in the school. Of course there is the chance you were specifically chosen to help the school. But... A part of me feels like I can trust you. So I am going with my gut... I need your help. You seem strong and everyone on our side will be of a great asset to us. I am tired of being treated like a monster... I am tired of seeing others like us just disappear. I am tired of seeing others losing people close to them... I know the school is behind it! I know it for a fact!" A tear rolled down her cheek and she turned away to hide it. She wiped it off before facing him again. "Listen I know it is a weak argument, but please trust me. Please help us... Please. Just you being at this school also means you are in danger. Helping us is helping yourself. I want to get to the bottom of this and we need your help." She had never begged before. She felt a little bit of shame come over her. She looked down again. "Please..." She bowed as low as she could before him.
A bell rang out signaling an announcement. The principle's voice rang out from the countless speakers spread out around the school. "Ladies and Gentlemen, I welcome you to the Terra Institution. Where the unknown becomes the known and the world splits into two existences. Learn everything you possibly can and excel in this world!" It clicked and the announcement ended. "Same stuff every year huh?" She remained bowed before Calintz.

| Calintz held up an arm over his face to shield the sudden dust storm. He was somewhat pleased to see Kyra emerge from the dust cloud coughing and spluttering. That would teach her to show off. But he didn't hold it against her, it looked like fun in all honesty. But she had kept him waiting and that was just plain rude. he hoped she was at least willing to explain herself to him after all these antics. Little did he know his wish was about to come true. But not without a cost.
"Nice little show you put on back there. Enjoying your first day of school transfer student?" She was still coughing a little as she approached Calintz. She stopped within comfortable speaking range as she got her coughing under control. Calintz felt a brief stab of embarrassment at her comment. He had gotten a little carried away he had to admit. He also considered the fact that she must have been at least a little annoyed that he had beaten him. He thought about trying to explain his suspicions about him holding back. However in the end it seemed most likely that it would come across as pity so he kept quiet. There was also the issue of being called "transfer student." He knew they weren't exactly best friends, but she did know his name, it was only common courtesy for her to use it. But before he could say so, she continued speaking.
"Anyways you may not be aware of this, but just by entering this school you have a chance of disappearing. I believe the school is behind it. I am also not sure just who is involved in this entire incident, like who is behind it and such. I gave you a straight answer. Now I expect some from you. Who exactly are you and why did you come to this school?" She looked down for a moment and then back at Calintz. I know it for a fact!" "Listen I know it is a weak argument, but please trust me. Please help us... Please. Just you being at this school also means you are in danger. Helping us is helping yourself. I want to get to the bottom of this and we need your help." "Please..."
Calintz was at a loss for words. he had known Kyra for less than a week. However he had come to think of her as a prideful, stubborn person. However, in his experience such people were above asking- yet alone pleading for anyones help. yet here she was, all but kissing his feet and begging for help. in truth, he felt like he was somehow doing something shameless just by letting this go on. feeling thoroughly embarrassed, he stepped forward and urged her to stand straight. "I like you better when you're insulting me, it suits you better." He said this with a kind, sincere smile. Stepping back, he sighed and looked her in the eye, becoming several degrees more serious as he did so.
"I did not lie when I said my name was Calintz, I admit that the rest was a lie. I appreciate the lengths you're going to with trusting me and asking me for help and I assure you I wasn't somehow 'recruited' to the side of whoever is behind the disappearances you mentioned." he paused, taking a deep breath. "I will tell you why I am here as best I can, but some things that I wish to remain private, I do not wish to speak of." Without pause, making it clear that this was not a point of debate, he went on to explain how he had traveled all over the world since he was 6 years old. he did not however, include the reason why. he briefly explained the circumstances under which he discovered his powers and that he was afraid he was unable to control it. Although he did not go into any details about what the power actually was. He was content for her to presume his ability was related to the sword he was able to summon.
"I came to this academy because I thought I could learn how to master my power. As I am now, it is far too easy to misuse it and I am not prepared to live with such regrets. The fact that there seems to be some sort of pot going on here disappoints me to be frank. If I had known, I wont lie, I might have simply not come here." he paused, giving Kyra time for his words to sink in. "But, because I am here and because I've met you and Clair, I will do my best to help you." He couldn't look directly at Kyra as he said this, he felt lame as he said his final words. Couldn't there have been a cooler way to do it? With a mental sigh of frustration, he accepted that the moment was passed now.
Then he remembered something important that Kyra would likely want to hear. "I know you said you don't know who is behind these incidents, but I have suspicions about someone who could be involved in some way..." he thought back on his skirmish with Himun. He recalled all too clearly the moment when he realized without a doubt that Himun had held back. "I believe Himun may have something to do with this. Either directly or indirectly I'm not sure. During the battle he made the comment that I didn't know what i was getting myself into. After hearing your explanation, it seems likely the the two things are related, if not one and the same."
He kept unwavering eye contact with Kyra as he spoke. He wanted her to know for certain that he was serious. "I... am certain he held back during our match." He looked down at his feet and kicked the dust as he spoke. The very idea of it was frustrating to say the least

| OCC: I was forced to do this post under the threat of death >=O Kyra VS Gareth's fight has been redone.
Kyra stood there listening to every word he said. To be honest she was surprised he actually accepted. He barely knew them or has been at this academy for long. It mainly was unbelievable to her in a sense. But as the saying goes the world is made of all types of people. He finished by saying he suspected Himun of holding back and being on the side of the school. She really had no argument there because she knew almost nothing about him. Besides the fact she hated him with everything she had. Just seeing his face made angry swell up inside of her. "Very well, I will let you investigate him. Well I shouldn't say "let" since you are the one helping us. You seem to hold your ground easily against him during that fight. So it just seems to make sense if he is an enemy. You would be the one to fight him." She smiled after regaining composure over her emotion.
"Well, there is a lot unknown going on still at this school that even I don't know. But I am going to tell you everything I know. I hope you are ready. Because knowing what I am about to tell you... Will most likely make you a target." She proceeded to tell him everything. From the first disappearance she could remember. To the one that happened a few days ago. It took around thirty or so minutes of talking and explaining everything to get Calintz filled in or at least get the bare minimum of it.
Finally she noticed something important. "Wait where the heck is Claire? She only had to come down from the roof and that should take less than two minutes." Kyra looked around everywhere. "Heeeeeeeeyyyyy Clllllllaaaaaaaiiiiirrrrreeeee, where are you?!" She yelled at the top of her lungs. Silence lingered in the air. She decided to try again. "Clllllaaaaiiiirrreee!!!!! Where the heck are you?!" She was now getting a little worried. She wasn't one to play tricks or make others worry. Plus she usually always stayed by Kyra. "Hey Calintz, go look into Himun. I need to go find Claire." In all honesty Kyra's heart was beating fast and she was worried. How the heck could she not have noticed Claire hasn't come down. She waved at Calintz and sprinted off into the building.
She quickly charged in pushing open those generic glass doors that you push or pull. You know the ones that you open when you walk into a store. She flung them open almost ripping them off in the process. "HEY CLAIRE! ARE YOU IN HERE?! C'MON SAY SOMETHING!!!" She walked in and quickly turned into a run again. She quickly darted towards the stairs that lead to the roof. "You gotta be joking, if something happened I wouldn't be able to forgive myself. Especially the fact that I had to show off. Dammit!!! IT was only a few minutes." She ran up the stairs as fast as she could. She finally reached the top quickly breathing heavily due to sprinting up stairs. "Damn I hate running up stairs." She pushed the doors open that lead to the roof. She walked out onto the roof. "Hey Claire, are you up here?" She scanned the roof almost every inch of it and it was spotless almost. No sign of Claire or anything. "Where are you Claire? Please be safe."
She searched the bathroom first to see if Claire was inside. She wasn't... As a matter of fact it was completely empty. Something came to her. "Where did all the students go?" She finally realized that she hasn't seen a single person in school since she split ways with Calintz. "DAMMIT!!! Just what in the hell is going on in this school!" She ran to the nearest room and looked out the window. There wasn't anyone in sight. She heard something from behind barely seeing a shadow of someone disappearing past the door. "Hey wait!"
Kyra charged into the hall wall only to reveal no one there. "Ugh, my head must be playing tricks on me." She took a brief look around in the hall way again before venturing onwards. Then all of a sudden the shadow appeared again and entered the closet four doors down. "H-hey wait!" The shadow entered the closet with the sounds of the doors closing behind it. She ran up to the same door the shadow entered. As she stuck her hand outwards towards the nob of the door, a shiver ran down her spine. She felt whatever was behind this room was bad, really really bad. She gulped and slowly reached outwards till her hand grasped the cold metal of the nob. "Well, here goes nothing." She slowly turned it until there was a click from the bolt completely concealing itself inside the door. She began to slowly open the door. First there was a stench she had never smelt before. It's smelled made Kyra's stomach turn and feel sick. She gulped and opened it the rest of the way.
The scene before her was awful, a scene that no one should have seen. The small closet sized room was covered in blood with a dismembered body. "Oh my god..." She observed a little longer till she lost everything that she had eaten earlier that day. She backed away and put her hand against the wall until she could regain part of her composure. "What the hell is this?" She was breathing heavy, her heart pounding. All of a sudden an image of Claire popped into her head. "No, it can't be, it just can't." She slowly peered into the closet again covering her mouth as if it would protect her against the scene that laid before her.
She slowly reached for the light in the closet and flicked it on. The light illuminated the crimson room with body parts in many different parts of the room. The torso laying blandly in the middle. She looked around as tears formed in her eyes. Then finally straight across from her something caught her gaze. She slowly entered the room trembling almost unable to hold in the tears now. She reached her arm out slowly and pushing a box out of the way that blocked her gaze. The box fell to the ground with a small hollow sound that only sounded once. Behind the box was the head of Claire and behind her there was a note written in blood. "C'mon don't be sad now, smile." Kyra stood there in shock. She couldn't even look away from the horrible sight before her. Salty tears rolled down her cheeks almost non-stop for a full minute before the scene clicked in. "No... No no no no no. This is just a nightmare. Please please please... Yeah it is just a dream... Please... Please... It is only just a dream..." She slowly walked out of the room before her legs gave out and she fell too the ground crying as hard as she could. "Wake up.... Wake up... Please...." She slowly crawled to the wall next to the door and curled up into a fetus position.
"Why, won't I wake up...? I want it to end, please..." She said in a trembling voice. Her tears seemed to not end and she couldn't stop even if she wanted to. "I-I'm alone... Why was it that this had to happen?" The unreal feeling finally subsided. "Oh god, why did this have to happen." She yelled into the empty halls at the top of her lungs screaming. The tears somehow got stronger. Memories seemed to flow through her head of all the good times and all the bad times. She lost the person who was most important to her. The person that saved her from the lonely world. The person who felt the same way as her. It took a good ten minutes before she could stand again. Even then her legs trembled as they slowly lifted her off the ground. She had to lean against the wall with one hand to maintain her balance. Then finally a memory popped into her head. The memory of when they first met and a single line came to mind that she couldn't help but smile through the tears. "It is better not to cry so much otherwise you may not be able to smile anymore." Somehow even though she smiled her pain felt worse. The fact was, she was alone now and there was no one that stood beside her.
A few more minutes passed of reminiscing about the past. A voice came to her head and once again it was Claire's. "Look Kyra... There is nothing else you can do besides look to the future. Look into the future and become stronger. Don't look into the past and see this as a loss. Look at it as a win as it allowed you to build again from new. Granting a new power to you... As now you can't go down and only rise up." She shook her head. "It is meaningless... I am alone now. Except if you were here, you would tell me to stop crying. So, for you I will stop and avenge you." She wiped her eyes erasing the tears from her eyes. Kyra believed herself a failure. She failed to keep her promise and she paid dearly for that failure. "Why did I have to show off..." She shook her head again. " if Claire was here she would tell me to stop blaming myself and look onwards. I-I-I k-know she would." Tears formed in her eyes again. "Dammit, I can't stop myself from tearing up."
She closed the closet door and put her head against the door. "I promise when this is all over I will give you a proper resting place." Kyra looked around again and noticed the bloody foot prints leading down the hall. She followed them carefully, as the lead down the hall and started to fade as it went around the corner. She didn't exactly know what to do anymore without Claire. All Kyra knew or do was try to push forward, by first getting revenge. Before she turned around the corner a faint sound could be heard from beyond the turn. Kind of like a hissing sound of a sorts that came in three short bursts. Kyra turned around the corner of the hall to see something that was unbelievable.
The entire corridor was completely covered in red... The sick smell loomed in the entire hall. It was blood, almost the entire hall was covered in blood. There was also signs of conflict. The walls were scarred from a big fight. The floors were almost completely covered by the bodies of students. "H-how did we not notice this happen???" Judging by the bodies and such, they went up against an A rank ability user. Who's ability seems rather messy. "The students must have been lured here and killed. There is no way this should have happened." She felt sick, but she had nothing else to lose in her stomach or otherwise. She was determined to continue forward.
The hissing sound came again and this time it was clear where it was coming from. A shadow in the middle of the hall way quickly jumped by into a nearby class room. Kyra quickly followed it, jumping over the bodies that littered the ground in the process. She reached the room quickly and opened the door. Straight in front of her the so called shadow stood. It quickly formed a human appearance and was soon realized the shadow was human. The hissing sound came again. It was a laugh that sounded awfully familiar to Kyra.
"Welcome to the fun, Kyra." A look of surprise and anger came to Kyra's Face. "Gareth... Are you the one who did this? Are you the one who killed Claire?!" He turned around and let loose another laugh. "Slow down there Kyra. You got the wrong person." Kyra hit the wall with her hand. "Liar! If you weren't the one, then why are you so calm? On top of that you are covered in blood." Gareth laughed again. "Oh dear, it appears you have a valid point." Gareth's clothes were almost soaked in blood. On top of which it was even in his face and hair. "Since the cat is out of the bag. I may as well tell you just for fun." His voice had an almost cheerful tone to it. "Either way you aren't a threat to us and that "small" fight with Himun proved it. But, besides that, yes I was the one who killed Claire and all the other students." A malicious grin crept up on his face. "Of course I had orders to do all this from the principle. So if you wanna blame someone you should blame him. But don't get to hasty now. I have a small story to tell you." His eyes became different, almost as if they weren't human and that of a demon. "Calire was fun to kill. She-" Kyra charged at him throwing a punch which he blocked it by hitting it off to the side. "Slow down there missy. I am done done telling my story." Kyra threw another punch with her free hand attempting to hit his face. He dodged it barely and kneed Kyra in the stomach and kicked her back. Kyra whipped backwards and hit the ground. "I still can't believe the principle was afraid of a small fry like you. Anyways onwards with my story. Claire screamed a lot as I slowly cut off her limbs. Of course I tried to be careful as not to kill her so quickly. So I only cut away a little at a time. I was impressed she remain conscious for so long. It was almost as if she had hope that something would come and save. I grew bored and decided just to erase that look from her face. So I finished her off completely."
Kyra rolled over and slowly got onto her hands. "I won't forgive you for that." He laughed and walked up to her. "Forgive me? Don't make me laugh. You should be the one begging for forgiveness. What for you ask? Well I don't really know myself." He kicked her in the stomach as she was on her hands and knees sending her back into the hall way. "Killing Claire was fun. I never really killed someone that way before. I should probably do something new with you as well. Hrmmm, but what exactly?" He ran up and kicked Kyra again. "This isn't even a fight. I don't know what Claire was expecting to be saved by. You are weak and nothing but useless trash." He kicked Kyra again and this time she flew back and hit the wall. He ran up and kick her again and again into the wall. "Well, this isn't as fun. Give me a minute to think about this." He turned away and scratched his head as if he were thinking.
"Kyra, you must get up." Kyra's eye flashed open as she regain consciousness from Gareth's brutal kicks. She then stood up and unleashed an invisible force towards Gareth. It hit him hard sending him flying to left and down the hallway quite some ways. He stood up and laughed a real laugh instead of his hissing one. "Well, well, this is more like it!" He stood up and reached into his uniform jacket pulling out a knife. "Let's see what you can do?" Kyra remained quiet through his constant mocking and insults. Gareth charged forwards slashing at Kyra. She ducked under it barely dodging it. She punched upwards towards his gut. He moved out of the way and brought in a kick that was excellently placed. Kyra tried to dodge it, but failed. The kick impacted into her side sending her out the window and into the courtyard. "Haha, is that all you've got?!" He jumped out after her and before she hit the ground she used her ability to cushion her fall.
She held her stomach and gritted her teeth. She slowly levered herself off the ground. The smoke form her ability quickly cleared. "Oh your still alive?? That is good! More fun! Hahaha!" He ran forward charging at her as fast as he could this time before he could reach her she used her ability and threw a wave of invisible force at him. "Not this time." He jumped high into the air dodging it. But she was prepared for such a thing to happen and sent another wave towards the air almost immediately after the first one. It collided straight on with him sending him flying backwards in a violent spin. He hit the wall hard, leaving an imprint from where he hit. He soon loosened and fell hard once again into the ground. He slowly picked him self and wiped away the blood from his lip. It was obvious he was in a slight daze from the attack as well. "Ugh, I feel dizzy. It seems you've improved though. But in the end it is my win." He sliced his finger with his knife revealing blood soon after. He then threw his arm in front of him creating a sideways arc. A giant red wave of violent energy sprung for and quickly traveled towards Kyra at a fast pace. Kyra barely dodged it by falling to the ground. The attack hit the wall making a big explosion.
The dust settled revealing most of where the wall had been hit to be gone. Gareth laughed abruptly as always. "This is the power difference between us. You don't even stand a chance." Kyra smiled a smile that was unusual for this predicament. She looked over to Gareth and smiled warming. "You believe you have the upper hand don't you?" A look of confusion and surprise came to Gareth's face. It quickly returned to normal. "Of course I do! You are just trying to scare me or delay for time. Either way it is just a filed attempt! " He smiled and this time cut his palm. "You may have gotten lucky dodging the first one but this time you won't receive such luck. Oh, before you die a miserable death. I want to tell you something. Claire begged us to show mercy. Of course I just laughed and tortured her some more through various excruciating methods. It was fun to listen to her beg and scream. To bad I can't kill you the same way. It would have been loads more fun for me. But, now you are making me get serious in a fight." Kyra's expression quickly dropped and anger took its place. Cold emotionless anger. "It is funny how much you miss just by showing off."
Gareth grinned and clapped his hands together spreading his blood between his hands. "Good Bye." He separated his hands and put them straight across from each other. He quickly brought from forward clapping both hands together. A huge wave of red-violet energy sprinted towards Kyra. "Too bad for you I am not as weak as I used to be." Kyra slowly reached her hand behind her back and a sword slowly materialized. It formed just in time as the huge wave reached her. She brought the blade upwards quickly doing a quickly vertical slash. A huge wave of black energy came forth and took on Gareth's attack head on. Almost like nothing the black energy broke through and cut his attack into two. The black energy continued forwards towards Gareth. "W-what?! Impossible! I can't get out of the way in time either!" The remainder of Gareth's attack completely missed Kyra and hit walls behind her. The impact from the attack was immense and completely obliterated the wall.
The wave of black energy charged forth and right as it was about it hit Gareth used another one of his attacks to help shield from the attack. It succeeded, but just barely. The black energy exploded with Gareth's attack creating a good sized explosion. Which Gareth got caught up in from being too close. It sent him backwards with tremendous force. He hit the concrete with tremendous force that he almost went through the wall and back into the building. He fell to the ground unable to move but alive. Kyra's sword she used in the attack disintegrated into nothing and she walked forwards to the barely conscious Gareth.
She kicked him forcing him to roll over onto his back so he could see her. His breathing was heavy from being tremendously hurt. One eye barely open looking towards Kyra. "G-guess they really did fear you for a reason." He coughed up blood from his injuries. "I won't beg for forgiveness or anything. But for beating me I will give you a prize. There is a secret switch in the principle's office that will lead to a secret area of the school. If you wish to end this, go there." He coughed again and looked at her as she summoned a blue sword of an unusual shape. She stuck the point of the sword on top of his throat. "I can't ever forgive you for what you've done. No matter what you do." She brought it down slowly decapitating his head completely. She didn't even wince once throughout the process.
She looked up into the sky which was beautiful blue with few clouds in the sky. "I have avenged you Claire. But I am not done yet. I still need to avenge everyone else that disappeared in the academy and I know the one behind it." She looked around at some of the carnage from the fight and ran towards the principle's office. Something then came to her mind. The transfer student, Calintz. "I will wait for him at the principle's office. If he is as good as I hope, he will find his way there one way or another."
She arrived at the principle's office in almost no time at all. Two voices could be heard from within. Kyra had two choices one was to enter the room and confront the principle and whoever else was in there or option two wait until Calintz shows up. She decided to do the latter option. She figured it would be best to wait for Calintz for back up. She really hoped she wouldn't have to go looking for him. She disappeared into a nearby class room just in case an enemy were to pass or the principle had to go somewhere.

| Calintz listened intently to all that Kyra had to say. he felt that as she detailed the potentially horrific nature of these disappearances he should feel upset or angry. But he felt very little really. Perhaps it was because part of him hadn't accepted that there was a problem. Or maybe he just didn't feel like he was involved yet. It didn't matter, he had agreed to help and that was that. He had noticed Clair wasn't with Kyra, although he didn't think it odd because she had jumped off the frickin roof. Although as kyra explained things to him, it slipped out of his mind. So when Kyra suddenly looked around for her friend, he felt just the slightest twisting in his stomach. There was no guarantee that anything had gone awry, but she had had plenty of time to come down from the roof.
Before Calintz could offer assistance in finding her, Kyra quickly dismissed him. With instructions to investigate Himun, he watched with an odd feeling of foreboding as Kyra raced into the building. With everything Kyra had just told him... no, he wouldn't think like that. The old maxim came to mind. Plan for the worst, hope for the best. With a final, lingering glance towards the top of the building, Calintz turned and began to walk back the way Himun had gone. The students from the last class were well and truly gone and Calintz found himself utterly alone as he moved towards the nearest classroom. As he walked, he continued to see and hear nothing. Now he hadn't been here long, bit after passing the 5th consecutive empty classroom, something seemed amiss. he made a lap of the entire lower floor and found not even the slightest sign of life. Now something was REALLY not right.
With a growing sense of trepidation, Calintz climbed the flight of stairs to the second floor. The academies main building consisted of a large courtyard surrounded by 4 stories of Classrooms. These classrooms were arranged in a corridor like manner around the main square. Each level held 28 classroom, with 7 on each side. The principals office was located on the 4th floor. As Calintz climbed the stairs to the second floor, he caught his first whiff of what lay ahead. It was the stench of death. Calintz paused just shy of the 2nd floor landing. The stench was now mixed with the sweet smell of burnt flesh. Calintz vividly remembered Himun's pyrokinesis ability.Suddenly Calintz felt a shot of dread course through his entire body. It was like when you find out something you did had had terrible consequences. or when you realize you forgot to do something very important. he tried to tell himself that whatever lay ahead wasn't his fault but... In his heart of hearts Calintz knew he didn't believe it.
Finally, Calintz built up the will to take the final steps to the second floor. What he saw next was a scene out of hell. There were no 'bodies' in sight. Only Charred, semi melted lumps of flesh that stretched as far as the eye could see. The air was hot with the scent of blood permeating the air. The floor had a thick smearing of blood. As did the walls and only some parts of the roof remained their original color. Slowly, Calintz made his way forwards. Every step he took made a sickening squelching sound. Several times he almost lost his footing in his disgust at the scene surrounding him. Once upon a time, a scene like this would have had him keeling over and emptying his stomach. But, whilst he had never encountered anything of this magnitude, he was able to cope. But he couldn't deny that it was difficult to bear. Then it occurred to him. If it was like this here, what was Kyra seeing right now? He just hoped that she and Clair were in better condition than the students who had been here.
As he made his way around the 2nd floor, he found nothing but more charred flesh and mangled bodies. It terrified him how sweet the smell of roasted human flesh could be. It was a sickening sweetness, much like rotting food could be. It was angering to see human life reduced to such a state. With renewed vigor, he sped up his search for Himun. His shoes were now soaked in blood and had splashed onto the lower portions of his pants. It was as he rounded the last corner before the stairs to the 3rd level that he saw his first sign of life. Or more specifically, he heard it. A classroom door up ahead slammed closed. The noise echoing in the dead silence of the corridor.
Quickly, Calintz made a beeling straight for it. All caution abandoned as blood sprayed out from under his feet. Reaching the closed door, he grabbed the handle to find it was locked. Not wasting his time with trivial formalities, he simply kicked it down. Inside, the classroom was one of very few that had remained unscathed. His entrance was met by a scream of sheer terror. Looking towards the source, Calintz found a girl huddled in the far corner hiding behind an upturned desk. She was drenched in blood from head to toe. His heart went out to her briefly before realizing that she thought he was going to kill her.
Closing the door behind him to prevent any nasty surprises from behind he approached her slowly. He came to a halt several meters away to show he meant no harm. "Can you tell me what happened here?" he asked, hoping his words could calm her at least a little. He could see in her all the signs of acute shock. Considering the pure carnage she must have witnessed, it was hardly surprising. Sadly, if this girl survived she would probably never recover from something like this. But, as potentially the only survivor, the was his best chance of getting much needed information. "Can you tell me your name?" He asked her very gently. It was best to start with simple questions, try and get them talking. The girls uncontrollable shaking did not stop, but after several stutters she managed to answer him. "C-c-Cassie", she burst into further sobs as she finished the word. It was truly a heart wrenching sight. Seeing a young girl no less in such a state.
"Alright Cassie, can you tell me if anyone else is alive?" He kept his tone gentle and reassuring, this girl was precariously close to shutting down completely. Her eyes widened at the question and her shaking became even worse. she opened her mouht to try and speak, but only a low moan of terror came out. Finally, she just shook her head. Her blood matted hair making sloppy slapping sounds as it moved with the motion. Calintz sighed sadly, he had feared as much. Now he had one final question. "Cassie, who is responsible for this?"
Calintz thought it was impossible, but her shaking actually grew worse. She also began to stutter incoherently. Calintz was a split second too late in realizing what she was about to do. With the speed and agility attributed to madness, she sprung from the corner of the room. Her eyes wild and almost animal like. Calintz made to grab her, but was too far away. She threw herself at the classroom window at full speed. Calintz shouted for her to stop, but it was too late. The window shattered, almost in slow motion. The girl- Cassie, sailed straight through it, the breaking glass cutting her all over. Then she dropped below Calintz's line of sight.
Time resumed normal speed and Calintz rushed to the window. Looking down over the window sill, he could see her spread eagled on the ground below. Sadly, her death was probably the most humane and painless out of all those who had died already. His heart a little heavier now than it had been before, Calintz turned away.
Right in time for the door to to crash open once again. Another blood soaked student stepped through. For a moment Calintz thought it was another suvivor. However, a second look told a different story. This student- a seniorboy- was impossibly calm. Not even the slightest hint of the trauma Cassie had been going through. He was also carrying a sword. But the biggest giveaway, was the look of disappointment on his face. "Dammit, she went and killed herself... I was looking forward to it" He trailed off as he registered Calintzs presence. "Hel-lo", he said, as though he had just found some sort of prize. "Looks like Himun missed one too." Calintz's eyes narrowed at the mention of Himun's name. He had all but believed it to be true. But hearing it confirmed only served to stoke the silent rage that was being kindled within him
The boy regarded him curiously. "You don't seem too shaken up by all this... Are you with us then?" Calintz had to force himself not to smile. Considering the systematic slaughter of seemingly every student, it was hard to believe they couldn't even distinguish their allies. remembering what Kyra had said to him some time earlier. About the chance that he was transferred here to help the schools plot. It was a golden opportunity to vent some of his pent up emotions. Putting on a smug smile he faced the boy front on. "Damn straight I am you idiot. Didn't anyone tell you I was transferred here specifically for this?" he seemed to his a nerve because the other boy glared at his feet. "I'm just a lowbie man, those pricks don't tell me nothing. Just, kill this or kill that" it was all Calintz could do not to reach out and try to strangle the kid right there and then. But he had to resist. He had to get closer. "Well, come on, these guys aren't going to slaughter themselves." He moved with extreme nonchalant confidence.
Showing no hint of anything that betrayed his true intentions. He walked past the boy, who had by now lowered his sword by his side. As they passed side on, Calintz made his move. in a blur of motion he grabbed the boys head and slammed it into the door frame. he barely managed to cry out in alarm before Calintz repeated the process a second time and then a third. Then the boy went limp. he was alive, but not for long. Picking up the unconscious body, he heaved it over to the window. he then propped it into a sitting position on the now open window sill. he retrieved the boys fallen sword and walked back to him. "This is for Cassie you prick." With that said he plunged the blade into the boys heart and let the body topple out the second story window.
Without a second glance, Calintz turned and walked back out into blood stained corridor. he would find Himun and he would kill him. Of that he was certain beyond all doubt. The final stretch of the corridor was just more of the same. Blood, blood and more blood. With the occasional smattering of charred bodies. it frightened him a little that he no longer noticed the smell so much.
It had only been 20 minutes and the stench was not as pronounced. Nor did it churn his stomach like it had earlier. He just wanted to get out of here as quickly as possible. But first he needed to find Himun. As he climbed the third floor stairs, he heard the screams. Hearing this, the chance of saving some students, however few made him sprint the final steps. Reaching the rhird floor landing, he quickly saw that any chance he had of saving anyone was zero. The corpses on this level were still victim to pyro kinesis, but with one significant difference. Whereas the previous floors victims were charred to a bloody lump. This floors were damaged just enough to let them bleed out. Students lay left right and center. Some were dead, others had gaping, charred holes in their chests and backs. More still were missing entire limbs. And in the midst of it all, standing srangely untouched by the carnage around him. Was none other than Himun. "Well Calintz, it's nice of you to join us. I have been expecting you "
Amidst the groans and shrieks of the dying, Calintz had no response. Noticing Calintz's distress, Himun looked around in mock curiosity as to the cause. "Ah, you dont like the ambience I put together? Thats a shame, I made it especially for you. Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to turn it off." He snapped his fingers, for effect rather than because he had to. Instantly, every single student in the corridor was engulfed in a pillar of flame. The screams intensified a hundred hold for several long, excruciating seconds. Then there was nothing but silence. The flames subsided, leaving nothing but charred flesh in their place. Calintz could only watch in helpless fury. "There we go, ambience off" Himun spoke with such nonchalance about the atrocity he had just committed. Calintz was beyond appalled, he was trembling with rage.
Seeing this, Himun smirked arrogantly. "Oh dear, have I upset you mr Transfer student? i'm sooo sorry that wasn't very welcoming of me. But I guess it doesnt matter since you'll be just like them very soon." He was carrying a sword, but this one was a claymoe, similar in size to Calintz's own blade.
"I know you must be thinking that you've already beaten me once. Surely I'll just be a pushover in round two. Unfortunatly, such thoughts would be a mistake" It was apparent from Himuns grin that h had been looking foprward to saying this for a long time. It was a small revenge, but one Calintz siezed all to gladly. He cut Himun off in miod sentence. "If you think that I think that 'fight' counted for shit then your sadly mistaken.
Himuns eyes narrowed angrily at his fun being spoiled. "Cut the crap Calintz, I know your ability now, that was my mission. If it had been more impressive, I was to recruit you to our cause. Sadly, you failed and now you get to die like the rest of them." There was a moments silence and then calintz started laughing. Himun could only look confused for a moment before covering his momentary lapse. "Why are you laughing dick head? You're about to die and thats word of your's isnt going to save you!"Calintz continued laughing, wiping away mock tears before addressing Himun. "I underesimated you it seems. I thought you would be able to tell... that I was holding back as well."
Himun was silent for a moment. Then he just shook his head sadly. "You're so full of shit it's depressing. Well enough stalling, I'm ending this right hee and now!" He raised his sword in readiness. "I couldnt agree with you more!" Calintz said back, his own blade manifesting itself in an explosion of blue light. There was a brief moment of pause as both combatants surveyed eachother. Then they charged and the real battle began.
Their blades clashed with the ringing of steel. Again and again they slashed, blocked an dparried eachother. Each using their favorite weapon. Although the battle was still in it's infancy, neither combatant could find themselves able to grasp the upper hand. A minute passed like anm eternity amidst the flying steel and still neiother had succumbed to an injury. Calintz felt the tell talle shiver of an ability being used and was almost too late in diving out of the way. behind him a great explosion of fire and debri tore open a hole in the outer wall. For a brief moment, it felt like the entire academy shook.
Then Calintz was on hiis feet, his blade glowing blue. Himun, seeing this technique and knowing it's destructive force, had little choice but to evade. Calintz's first slash was aimed to slice Himun in twop for top to bottom. He missed by centimeters as Himun backpedalled. His balde insead crashing into the floor. A fissure spread through the floor from the impact. Forcing himun to retreat to avoid the hole in the floor that now lay between them.
"Well, perhaps you werent comlpetely full of shit after all." Himun remarked with a wry grin. "Too bad that sword isn't going to be enough to save you... from the second ability I have." Before Calintz could fully appreciate what Himun had said, he disappeared. Almost simultaneously, Himuns voice sounded directly behind him. "Hey Calintz, dont take your eyes of the ball champ." Eyes widening slightly in surprise, Calintz spun, bringing his sword up in defense. He managed to catch Himuns blade and prevent the killing blow. However the sword cut into his right shoulder. It was far from being a serious wound, but it was about to get worse if he didnt do something. Himun disappeared again, this time appearing to his right side. Calintz swung his sword at him immediately, but he just vanished again.
It wasn't just extreme speed. Himun seemed to vanish altogether. That had to mean his second ability was teleportation. Himun materialised directly above Calintz this time, but he was ready for him. His blade already growing blue, he swung his sword with only one intent. Himun made to block teh attack, but Calintz's attack didn't meet his blade. Instead, it passed right through the hilt milimeters below the hilt guard. Himun was left holding nothing but the hilt. With a snort of disgust he cast it aside. "Well, I suppose it's to be expected that you could keep up with me. Carrying a sword that large slows me down considerably."
Without warning, Himun disappeared again. At practically the exact same time, a smashing blow hit him in the back and sent him flying forwards. He sailed over the hole in the floor and 'bounced' along the corridor floor twice before coming to a halt against the far wall. Himun appeared standing bove him moments later. "Is this really all you can do? I thought you said you were holding back before. So why are you lying at my feet now?" he emphasised his question by delivering a straight kick at Calintz's upper torso. The power of the kick forced Calintz into the wall. Spiderweb like cracks spreading out around him. Calintz didn't make any response to Himun's jibes. He was winded ad trying to regain his breath.
"Too embarrassed to say anything? I can't say I blame you. It's pretty pathetic to talk yourself up like that..." He kicked Calintz again, this time part of it started to collapse. "Only to be defeated so damn easily!" He concluded his statement with one last kick that sent calintz through the wall. He found himself free falling for a moment as he fell from the second third story. Acting quickly despite the pain from Himun's kicks, Calintz stabed his sword into the outside wall of the academy. At first the blade sliced through it like butter, but then it caught and Calintz came to a jerking halt. Not wanting to be caught in such a compromising position, he swung himself up so he stood on top of his blade. He was directly below a second floor window. With a single kick he shattered the glass enough for him to climb through. He didn't bother pulling his sword out as it just materialised in his hand once again.
"Not bad, not bad at all" Calintz spun to see Himun lounging in the corner at the far end of the room. "I'm actually glad your not dead yet. I havent told you about what's happened to your friends." Calintz frowned in confusion for a moment before it clicked. He was talking about the girls. He remembered Kyra running off to find Clair and the feeling of dread he had felt then. "What have you done to them?" He asked quietly, an unnatural stillness coming over him. Himun, taking this to be his acceptance of defeat, was only too happy to answer him.
"Well, while you two were gas bagging, poor Clair was left alll aloone" he dragged out the words with mock horror. "It's hardly surprising if someone bad was to... acquire her on her way down to the ground floor." He grinned wickedly to show Calintz that that was exactly what had happened. "But don't get me wrong, it wasn't me that got to play around with her, that was Gareths jurisdiction. You would know him as the head prefect of the school." Calintz didn't answer, he remembered Gareth from the car ride into the academy. Himun laughed again, clearly enjoying his recount of events. "He left the radio on while he 'dealt' with her. I got to listen to her screams and pleas for mercy for a good while. it might be a bit sick, but I find nothing to be more envigorating than someone's long, slow death."
So Clair was dead, Calintz thought briefly of what Kyra would have gone through. That's assuming she was alive long enough to find out. "What happened to Kyra then?" he asked, still speaking very quietly. Himun shrugged with his usual nonchalance. "Dunno, gareth was going to play with her for a little while and I had my own mess to clean up over here.Which brings us to the end of this little game. It was nice meeting you Calintz, bu I'm going top have to finish you off now."
he made to step towards Calintz but stopped. He frowned, lookign at Calintz. SOmething was wrong, very wrong. As he looked on, the air around Calintz began to become blurred. Yet somehow, it seemed tainted. Calintz's head shot upwards to glare coldly at Himun. Himun almost hissed in surprise seeing his eyes. It was like a pond that someone had dropped black ink into. Even as he looked on, they became black as his pupils turned from green to a sinister golden yellow. The air seemed to have noticably darkened by this point and HJimun became aware that Calintz's skin looked as though he was standing in shadow, yet there was none. Next, glowing white symbols steadily came to life everywhere that bare skin was visible. Finally, Calintz's deep red hair obtained sreaks of the deep black. These streaks steadily spread, like some sort of taint. The entire transformation took all of 8 seconds. For all of which Himun was rooted to the spot with something absurdly close to fear. The person who now stood before him had a comlpetey different aura to the calintz of 10 seconds ago.
Calintz, now regarding himun as a spider would regard a fly, smiled. But it was a smile devoid of humor and full of malice. "I told you I held back before. I really don't like using this ability. I find it really quite... difficult to control myself sometimes." As he spoke, he carelessly hit the wall with his fist. The entire wall of the classrom imploded under the impacta s though it had been hit by a wrecking ball. "You were only half right before. This fight is about to end. But it is I who will finish you"
Himun took an involuntary step backwards. This wasn't happening to him. This couldnt be happening to him. He was about to win this. There was no way this stupid transfer student could get the betetr of him so easily. Brashly throwing aside his hesitation, Himun teleported close to calintz, throwing a punch at his face. The attack connected and Himun grinned. "See you aren't so special after all." Calintz's arm snapped up and siezed Himun's just above the wrist. It was only then that Himun realised his punch had had absolutely no impact on Calintz at all. He also found himself unable to break the iron grip that bound him.
Desperately, he struggled to get away. He couldn't teleport when he was in contact with someone else. That left one option to him. Close range Pyrokinesis, he would be happy with death if he could take this one person with him into hell. He was about to cast a withering attack when Calintz made his counter attack. With his right hand holding Himun in place, he drove his left into his stomach. Himun was brought off his feet like a leaf caught in a strong wind. However he was prevented from flying backwards by Calintz's firm hold. Next, Calintz kicked him in the side, his boot finding and breaking two ribs.
Himun whipped sideways, his arm dislocating. Yet still he did not come loose from that unrelenting grip. Crying out in shock and pain, he attempted again to blast Calintz with his pyrokinesis. But Calintz acted first once again. With almost no visible effort, he swung Himun by his arm up over his head and brought him crashing into the floor. Under the weight and power of the attack, the floor simply gave way. Calintz let go of Himun, allowing him to fall to the floor below under an onslaught of rubble.
There was a moments pause before a great gout of fire exploded upwards out of the hole Calintz had created. Grinning without even meaning to, Calintz raised one foot and stomped down. The floor caved in beneath him and he dropepd down to the next floor along with a shower of debri. Smoke, dust and embers drifted were everywhere as Calintz looked to locate his prey. It wasn't difficult as he spotted Himun struggling to remain standing atop a pile of smokeing rubble. His left arm hung uselessly at his side. One eye was swollen shut and apart from being covered in blood, his breath came ragged and labored.
"Y-you monster, what the frickin hell are you!" Himuns scream was hoarse with pain and fear as Calintz slowly approached. When he came within 5 meters, Himun disappeared, appearing at calintz left side. However, he was met immediately by a back hand fist from Calinz. With a audible oomph of air leaving his lungs, he smashed into the wall and slid to the floor. His breathing was now mixed with the sounf of gurgling blood. Roughly, Calintz picked Himun up by his shirt collar and held him suspended off the ground. His yellow eyes staring, as if into Himuns soul.
"You are going to tell me where I need to go to finish this." It was a statement, not a question. Himun, feling as though he was staring the devil in the eye, was anmswering the question before he knew what he was doing. "G-go t-to the principals office..." His voice was a choked squeak. All his former arriogance and granduer were well and truly abandoned. Calintz nodded slowly, then looked Himun in the once again and allowed a smile to play on his lips. "You are going to die now. I want you to realize that. It will not be slow and it will be painful. Accept this now, it'll be easier that way. You have ten seconds to pray whatever god you believe in."
Himuns eyes widened in terror. "P-please no, I-I want to live." Calintz tightened his grip on Himuns collar, his rage flaring for a moment. "How many of these students begged for mercy while you slaughtered them? How many pleaded for their lives?" Himun could only whimpered in reply. "ANSWER ME DAMN YOU, HOW MANY!" He roared, his fury coming to it's peak. Himun, helpless before the ruth, was reduced to helpless sobs. reagingi9ng his composure, Calintz shook his head sadly. "And yet you dare to ask me for mercy? For your sake, I hope there is no God. If there is, he will damn you to the deepest portion of hell."
With that, he let Himun drop from hsi grasp. Himun hit the ground and collapsed under his own weight. The last thing he saw was Calintz's piercing yellow eyes. Then the sole of Calintz's boot obcured his view. Then, there was nothing and he was dead. Calintz looked down at the crushd head of Himun beneath his right boot. "Burn in hell ass hole" he whispered quietly, then his hair began shifting back to its normal blazing red. His eyes regained their natural color and his skin returned to its normal color as well.
"Looks like I overdid it again" he sighed, looking at the carnage around him. He wasn't sorry though, not this time. Without a backwards glance, Calintz trudged along the bloody corridors. He quickly returned to the third floor. Which bore the signs of his battle with Himun. Then he made his way to the final flight of stairs. He looked down at himself for a moment. He was truly a sight to behold. Cloting soaked in blood up the the knees. Blood spray practically everywhere else. "I'm going to need new clothes after this."Then Calintz mounted the stairs and trudged upwards. Leaving a trail of bloody footsteps in his wake. As he approached the principals office, he could hear faint voices from beyond the door. The rest of the corridor seemed abandoned. Coming to a halt opposite the door to the principals office, he paused for a moment. The voices inside were still audible, bu he couldnt make out what they were saying. Mentally preparing himself for what was to come next, he took his first step towards the door.

| "Tsh, another small fry is coming." She hide herself behind the class room door and carefully waiting and listened to the foot steps approaching. She quickly materialized her blue sword and held it in position, ready to strike when needed. "It is so hard to keep the halls so clean these days. All I know is everyone on their side needs to die." She whispered quietly to herself. The echo of the foot steps got closer and closer. Then, finally they sounded close enough. She reached out and pulled whoever it was into the class room and closed the door quickly. She had his mouth covered, so he couldn't make a sound. With a cold heartless look in her eyes she stabbed him in the chest almost immediately as the door closed. After her died she threw the body down with the other five corpses. She made sure she was quiet as possible. Of course she could let them just go in, but anger and sadness still filled her.
"I am positive there is someone stronger with the principle. I doubt he will be unguarded or be guarded by someone week." Everyone knew the principle was a normal human. So his reasons for actually running the school was mystery. Everyone just assumed he had a big heart. Well besides a few people Kyra being one of them. She always believed he had some ulterior motive. "What exactly is Calintz doing. He better still be alive. Otherwise I will kill him myself. Well, I guess I can't if he already dead. Well i'll bring him back to life somehow and kill him."
Time continued to pass by and distance noises could be heard. She had no interest in saving anyone at this point. All she cared for is to get revenge for Claire. But she wasn't as stupid to just charge into there expecting it to be easy and the only person who could help her now is Calintz. Footsteps echoed down the hallway yet again. With the oh so familiar clatter. She angled her pocket mirror that she found in the classroom to see who it was. It was Calintz. "Sheesh, finally he comes." He approached to door to the principle's office and paused in front of it. All of a sudden he walked forward towards the door. But before he could Kyra came from behind and swept him into the classroom. "Shush, don't make a sound Calintz." She showed herself quickly too him. "Glad to see your still alive." She still was slightly messy from her earlier fight with Gareth and a little bloody from killing the six enemies that happened to be returning to report their situation.
She bowed her head in silence for a second. "Claire... Has died." Her expression full of anguish. "They need to pay for what they have done. I will slowly kill the principle for what he has done." She pointed behind her to the dead bodies. "I killed some worthless enemies. I hope your still up for this because I doubt whatever lies beyond that door will be easy to kill. Also, was Himun an enemy like you thought?" She paused and singled to be quiet with her finger by placing it in front of her lips. She listened to the silence for a few moments to make sure that there was no one.. No sound could be heard and she began to whisper to Calintz again. "If you have anything to take care of or if you wish to turn back now is your last chance. But I will let it be known I need your help. I believe whatever the principle is up to will be foiled that easily." She paused to allow him to do whatever he needed and answer her questions.
Finished: Needs coloring... I ran out of time. | |
